Bob Carden will present "Conflict in the Middle East – A Historical Perspective"
Wednesday, October 30, 10am-12pm
The one-time presentation will seek to understand why the conflict exists and why a solution is difficult.
This presentation will cover the history of the Arab – Israeli conflict beginning with Abraham.
It will also look at significant historical events such as WWI and WWII and how these events shaped the creation of Israel. It will be important to examine the Nakba (the flight of Palestinians from Israel) and how Jewish absentee owner laws affected their return. And a brief look at the Palestinian Authority, Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iran.
