04/29/19 When the King Returns - The Sheep and the Goats

Our theology impacts our anthropology and our anthropology informs our sociology. Our theology our understanding of God impacts our anthropology understanding of man. We understand that man is created in the image of God He values them so much that He would come as man to rescue them. We see God come in human flesh loving on the marginalized and the misfits, healing broken lives and broken bodies. We take our cues from Him. Our theology impacts our anthropology and our anthropology informs and defines and directs our relationships and behavior within society.
This entire chapter (Matt 25) has hammered home the point that we cannot afford to be indifferent towards Jesus and His return; indifferent towards the Holy Spirit who makes us ready for the return of Jesus; indifferent in the way we steward the resources that God gives us. We cant afford to be indifferent to needy world all around us; indifferent to lost humanity that will stand in judgment.
THAT means that despite every trend around us we fully and completely give ourselves over to knowing, trusting and serving Jesus fully give ourselves over to living lives that exalt Jesus. We need to frame our lives in terms of relationship to Jesus. Its way easier to say, Im walking away from my faith than it is to say, Im walking away from Jesus. Its way easier to think about walking away from your faith than it is to think about walking away from Jesus.
