Make a Difference

September 25, 2022 • John 6:35, John 6:5–13

We all desire to make a difference in this world, but often times we feel stuck “between a rock and a hard place.” Life is full of challenges that test our resolve, creativity, & faith. God leverages life’s greatest problems to grow US. In the only miracle recorded in all four Gospels, God reveals He is not limited by our limitations. He takes the “little things" we offer and He exponentially multiples it into a nourishing and life giving experience for all. Only God can do that! TALK ABOUT IT - Questions to GROW through with family, friends, & myself. 1. Have I ever been in an impossible situation? What did I learn about God? Myself? 2. How do I reflect on the persistent questions God has embedded in my heart? 3. Which character in this story do I relate to the most and why? What step forward can I take to grow? 4. What are some of the “little things” that I have to offer my community in our current state of affairs? 5. PRAYER: “Father, help me to be faithful with what you have given me and to trust you for the outcome!”

Find Freedom

September 11, 2022 • John 8:30–59

We may not be physically captive, but many of us are emotional, mentally, & spiritually captive and need freedom. Jesus taught that there is no freedom without TRUTH! But the truth can be terrifying. So what did Jesus teach about freedom, sin, pluralism, the devil, death, & himself? When we follow Jesus and His teachings the truth doesn’t have to be terrifying, but will lead to true freedom to become the people God has called us to be. TALK ABOUT IT - Questions to GROW through with family, friends, & myself. 1. Do I believe “ignorance is bliss?" Where in my life has that idea held me captive? 2. How do most people respond to the idea of sin or that there is only one path to God? 3. How do most people respond to the idea of the devil or death? 4. Do I believe that Jesus claimed to BE God? What does the text indicate and what does it mean for me? 5. PRAYER: “Father, help me to be faithful to your teaching so i can experience your freedom!”
