Join us for a weekend to fellowship and grow as parents and child disciplers as we take a look at the issues surrounding kids today and remind ourselves that God is bigger than all of it. We will have various speakers at this event with backgrounds spanning from ministry and discipleship to education, mental health counseling, substance abuse, juvenile law, and more. Our hope is that we can all come away feeling encouraged and equipped as we dive into raising up the next generation for God’s glory. GUEST SPEAKER: LEAH BROACH ALLIANCE KIDS NATIONAL DIRECTOR Leah works with leaders across the US and abroad to equip ministries in child discipleship. She believes healthy, thriving child discipleship is mission-critical for reaching the world for Christ. She began her work in international ministry, followed by more than 14 years in education. She is also a mom of two boys and a former homeschooler. Her commitment to empowering others toward resilient faith remains steadfast for the church of today and the future. BREAK OUT CONVERSATIONS: Addictive and Enticing; what your kids don't know about sex, substances and screens Led by Colleen Etzbach & Rob Lechwar Colleen has experience in higher education, clinical mental health counseling, vocational rehabilitation and the personal experiences of raising 3 wonderful people through the teen years. Rob is a retired judge with extensive experience in juvenile, family and substance abuse issues both from professional work and his personal experiences with parenting a child who struggled with addiction. Optimizing Your Blended Family; Via Adoption or Re-Marriage Led by Mark & Peggy Halvorsen and Kris Ann Erickson Mark and Peggy’s ministry through radio (WWIB) has impacted thousands over the years. They also founded Teamwork Africa; a non-profit that was created out of their international adoption experience. Kris Ann Erickson has many years experience as director of children and family Ministries at Cedarbrook Church and Menomonie United Methodist Church. She and her husband are raising their son along with co-parenting children from her first marriage. She is excited to facilitate topics on the matter of parenting blended families in order to cultivate growth, healing and unity. Navigating the Mental Health Crisis through a Christian Lens Led by Elizabeth Lee & Pa Sia Lor Moua Elizabeth Lee is a mental health professional based out of Minnesota with a heart for Jesus and families. PaSia is a golden apple recipient out of Eau Claire and has incredible information on more than education, her knowledge expands to teaching and discipleship of kids in a variety of developmental and life settings.
