2023 Women's Retreat

Rise Up - Isaiah 43:19

September 8, 6:00pm - September 10, 2023 12:00pm

Registration is now closed. We are excited to announce our speaker for our fall retreat—Jen Vogel! Jen attended Bethel University in St. Paul, MN, and Iowa State University in Ames, IA, earning a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. Jen is married to her best friend & high-school sweetheart, Doug. Together, they have raised two boys, Adam & David, and are delighted by recent additions to their family – two daughters-in-law, Hannah & Tara, and a grandson, Wayne. Jen has served in her current role, National Director of Alliance Women, since July 2015. Prior to that, she served for six years as Alliance Women director in the MidAmerica District. Jen is also a member of the President’s Cabinet. In her free time, Jen enjoys reading, travel, and the daily New York Times® crossword puzzle. Jen says, “I desire to be a woman of the Word and a woman of peace, maintaining a spirit of encouragement and living a life characterized by humility and grace.” After two years of exploring the theme of “Belong” with Alliance women throughout the United States, celebrating the truth that we are seated at the table with Jesus, Jen will introduce a challenge to “Rise Up” from the table and walk with Jesus, perhaps to something completely new! Our inspiration verse is Isaiah 43:19 – “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” Jen will guide us through the familiar narrative of Ruth with fresh insight. Together, we will consider how we, too, can Rise Up with faith, courage, and humility. 1st Session: Rise Up with Faith 2nd Session: Rise Up with Courage 3rd Session: Rise Up with Humility 4th Session: Rise Up with Jesus LODGING: Lodge rooms sleep 5, which includes the use of a trundle bed (2 twins, 2 twin bunks and trundle bed).
