This group is going through Explicit Gospel by Matt Chandler. The Explicit Gospel brings to light the fact that going to church doesn’t mean that you are being exposed to the gospel. Most church folks talk about Jesus, and about being good and avoiding bad, but the gospel message isn’t there. The understanding that Jesus died in our place and wants a personal and living relationship with us that involves faith, surrender, repentance, and intimacy with God, is often missing. The book is inspired by the needs of church going people that may still be lost due to trusting in religion instead of Jesus.
