An Empowered Plan That Prioritizes People & Creation

March 19, 2023 • T.D. Davis

Jesus chose an interesting Greek word to use that we translate to the word “church” in our English language. The secular and social term He uses is “ecclesia”, which literally means “assembly”, and assumes people are gathered for the good of the community. So for Jesus’ rule and reign, we learn that the Holy Spirit empowers His “assembly” to multiply His goodness by prevailing against spiritual forces of evil in every form. In this message, T.D. Davis (co-lead pastor) encourages us that the church isn’t the church without the crucial element of ongoing engagement in an empowered plan that prioritizes people & creation.

But what if glimpses of that forward reality could be experienced in the imperfection of today? Enter Jesus as Lord and the opportunity to worship within the governance of His revolutionary Kingdom on earth as it is in heaven. In this message, T.D. Davis (co-lead pastor) encourages us that the church isn’t the church without the crucial element of people offering all of themselves to the perfect leader and Lord: Jesus.

A Family With A Good Father

March 5, 2023 • T.D. Davis

Our identity as human beings is crucial to our spiritual lives. Without knowing it, our pursuit of purpose can so easily change our identity from beings to “human doings”. As a part of creator God’s story, we have been Fathered as God’s image bearers through human history with a plan to free us from our evil kidnapper. And it is through this Fathered commitment that community is expressed as one of the crucial elements of a local church. In this message, T.D. Davis (co-lead pastor) unpacks the idea of spiritual family and the crucial reality that we are not a church unless we create deep and sincere relationships as modeled first by Father God’s relentless pursuit of us.

Church Baggage

February 26, 2023

It is entirely possible to live within the virtues of spiritual life and yet feel immensely burdened by its man-made baggage. In other words, in the pursuit of more (complexity), we can unintentionally lose our souls. As is with any other unclear or unfocused organization, Jesus’ church as a living organism is no exception to this reality. In this message, T.D. Davis (co-lead pastor) introduces and unpacks the new message series big idea — As we actively participate in writing the current pages of church history, we can paradoxically behold the power of something as grand as God's Kingdom by unapologetically committing ourselves to a few essential elements, while freely letting go of any unwanted baggage in the process.
