Where Angels Fear to Tread: Meck Talks Politics

A Call to Prayer

November 1, 2020 • Jim White

Why is Meck going to talk politics? Because you are. Everyone is. Nothing else - not even the pandemic - is trending higher. In truth, the deeper issue is that everything - including the pandemic - has been politicized. So what is the Christian perspective on politics, and the Christian's role in the political realm? What are the dynamics between "God" and "Caesar"? Does God take political sides, and if so, which ones? Is America a Christian nation, and if not, is that the goal? Are there values meant to guide us when it comes to politics? Do all Christians, if they are truly Christian, have to vote the same way? Does embracing the Christian faith automatically lead you to one particular political party? What if, as a Christian, you feel homeless - too conservative for the progressives, and too progressive for the conservatives? It may be where angels fear to tread, but tread we must. Meck is going to take the month of October and, yes, talk politics. But more importantly, talk about politics through the lens of the Bible when it talks politics.
