A House Not Made With Hands

Recently we have seen how quickly a house can be destroyed by a flood and by a fire. Houses that were built alongside the rivers and streams of Western North Carolina were obliterated by the flood waters. Multimillion dollar homes and an entire city have been wiped off the map by the fires in California. You build a house as a permanent residence but in just a moment, it’s gone! These tragedies have reminded us that everything we see is temporary. 2 Corinthians 4:18 b NLT 18 For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever. It’s all temporary so don’t get adjusted here.

Defiled and Left Alone

Jesus attacked the teaching of the Pharisees who were hung up on ceremony and tradition. Specifically, it was about the ceremonial handwashing ritual. It involved the use of a two-handled cup in which water was to be poured twice on the right hand followed by twice on the left. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for their hypocrisy, and they were offended.
