Rock Bottom: When God Meets Us At Our Worst

June 14, 2020 • Pastor Clarence E. Stowers, Jr.

Jonah on board this ship is very symbolic of how we can allow things to get into our lives that don’t need to be there. It could be a sin, it could be harboring a bad feeling toward someone, it could be a wrong relationship, it could be allowing something in our lives that keeps us from moving forward with God. Here are some lessons on getting Jonah out of your boat.

We could all use a little encouragement right now. During difficult times, negativity can seem like an easy choice. But it's not the best choice. Change your perspective and find some encouragement to help you. Gratitude is the gateway to peace. Thankfulness brings joy. In this week’s message, find out how to cure complaining by focusing on gratitude and thankfulness for what God has given. Today's Message: The Cure for Complaining | Philippians 4:4-8

Flying With a Broken Wing Devo

June 8, 2020 • Pastor Clarence E. Stowers, Jr.

What is a devotional? That’s not easy to answer. A devotional can be many things. It can be a Bible reading plan. It can be a series of meditations. It can be a liturgical exercise. It can be a daily selection of verses, accompanied by a thoughtful essay. We certainly know what it is not. It’s not a doctrinal statement. It’s not a Bible commentary. It’s not a theological textbook. A devotional is not designed to change your mind; it’s meant to change your heart. I'm excited (Pastor Stowers) about this week's devotional because I wrote it. This week's devotional examines the life of David and how, in his darkest moments, God met with him. Remember, God never leaves us or abandons us; instead, God pursues and seeks to encounter us in our dark moments.
