Do you like trailers or previews to a movie? In Mark 8:31 Jesus gives us a PREVIEW of coming attractions. He is going to suffer and die, but then will rise from the grave. Peter had a limited PERSPECTIVE and tries to rebuke Jesus because he didn’t like the preview. If we would have deleted the scene, it would destroy the story. Jesus gives us a model, a PATH, and in order to save our life, we have to give it away. The scene that changes everything is our surrender.
