Sin, Pain, and the Whole Crazy Thing

The book of Genesis offers several themes to explore; offerings, jealousy, sin, repentance and reliance on God’s grace. As we look more closely at the stories of Cain and Abel and the Tower of Babel, we’re left with an impression of humanity’s ongoing struggle with sin, emphasizing the importance of seeking forgiveness and living in deep trust in God’s provision.

God's Loving Oversight

As we dive into the story of Joseph, we find that even though Joseph faced hardships, including being sold into slavery in Egypt, God was with him and ultimately used those events for good. We discover that God's love prioritizes character development over comfort and that human actions, even sinful ones, can be used for good in God's providence.
