Generosity involves trusting God with our resources—financial, temporal, or material. Proverbs 3:9-10 encourages honoring God with wealth, promising our barns will overflow. Giving our first fruits shows we value God above material concerns and trust Him for our needs. It blesses others and brings joy to the giver, as 2 Corinthians 9:6-8 says that those who sow generously will reap generously. Our church’s journey started with faith and has become a beacon of hope for the community.
Generous: Embracing God's Moments
November 10, 2024 • Bruce Humphrey • Galatians 6:9–10, Ephesians 5:15–16, Romans 5:8, John 10:10
Life resembles a tapestry of joyful moments and everyday occurrences. Consider weddings, landing a first job, or watching a child take their first steps—these experiences shape our lives. Viewing them through God’s purpose reveals how we can live wisely and generously. This week, we explore Galatians 6:9-10 and Ephesians 5:15-16 to align our actions with God’s plan for giving back and living wisely. The message encourages us to persist in doing good, seize opportunities to help others and make the most of our time. Bruce, our Lead Minister, shares stories about the struggles with instant gratification, busy schedules, and emotional fatigue, urging everyone to shift from self-centeredness to a focus on the kingdom.
