You learn a lot about what is important to somebody by the things they pass on at the end of their life.
Now, Joshua had seen God’s people both flourish and also make awful decisions and disobey God. He’s now challenging his listeners one last time to recommit themselves to what is really important.
Today we’re going to go on a journey together. We have 3 stops on our journey. I believe there are 3 things that we need to see and ask God’s spirit to help us receive the things He wants to show us.
Joshua. For the Israelites it meant entering into a geographic location
promised to them by the Lord.
The promise is rest: you can survive-deployments, bankruptcies, miscarriage, retirement, divorce, promotion etc... but there is more than survival at stake.
I identify with the story of the Promised Land…
Many people “know the promises of the Bible”. Yet, at the heart of Christianity, knowing is only as beneficial as it serves to change our heart.
