As we wrap up Philippians 2, Paul will give us one last piece of advice if we ever want to become famous for Christ. It is something we all tend to do, possibly even think it is no big deal to do, but I am not sure we really understand how much it truly offends God when we do it.

The Bible appears to have a backward divine economy to things. Over and over again, so many things seem so backwards. It is by giving that a person receives. It is by serving that one is served. And here in Philippians we will see another: it is by humbling ourselves that we will be exalted. It is so backwards, and yet, it works in amazing ways. So much so that if done right, it can make us famous!
