1. Have you ever felt broken or had a personal breakdown? What was this experience like for you?

2. Read John 12:24 and Psalms 34:18 NLT and discuss: In these scriptures how do we find purpose for the breaking we experience in our lives? How has this been true for you as you have walked with God?

3. Read 1 Kings 19:1-18 NLT and discuss: How do you relate to Elijah in this segment for scripture? Have you experienced a personal breakdown before? How can we give these breakdowns to God and allow Him to show us the way through them to our breakthrough?

Read 1 Samuel 30:1-6 NLT and discuss; Have you ever found that nothing and no one around you can comfort or encourage you? How can we find our strength in the Lord like David? Share about a time where this was true for you. 3. Read 1 Samuel 30:7-8 NLT and discuss; David asks the priest for the Ephod. The Ephod was an apron worn by the high priest as a symbol of worship to God and the atonement for sins. It signified that the High Priest had access to God to petition for the people of God on their behalf. David skipped the High Priest in desperation and went straight to the source. In what ways do we need to go straight to God with our situations and circumstances? What do you need to take straight to the source in this season of your life? 4.
