2. Read Luke 24:13-18 and Proverbs 13:12 NLT and discuss; What boundaries have been put on your hope? What worldly confines have your hope been bound to?

3. Read Luke 24:19-21 NLT and discuss; What circumstances have buried your hope in this season? What makes you feel that the time for hope is now dead and gone?

4. Read Luke 24:22-34 and Romans 6:4 NLT and discuss; How do we realize that hope never left? That it was hope that was keeping us going the whole time? How has the resurrection of Jesus given us reason to dare to hope?

Share about a time where it seemed like everything around you was going wrong and it was a challenge to find the strength to continue on. 2. Read 1 Samuel 30:1-6 NLT and discuss; Have you ever found that nothing and no one around you can comfort or encourage you? How can we find our strength in the Lord like David? Share about a time where this was true for you. 3. Read 1 Samuel 30:7-8 NLT and discuss; David asks the priest for the Ephod. The Ephod was an apron worn by the high priest as a symbol of worship to God and the atonement for sins. It signified that the High Priest had access to God to petition for the people of God on their behalf. David skipped the High Priest in desperation and went straight to the source. In what ways do we need to go straight to God with our situations and circumstances? What do you need to take straight to the source in this season of your life? 4.
