📄 Hebrews 6 Foundations

Introduction

Christopher Alton • Hebrews 6

In this module we shall be looking at a small, but significant, number of verses in the letter to the Hebrews: - 1 Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2 and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. 3 And this we will do if God permits. Hebrews 6:1-3 ESVUK These verses serve as an exhortation for us to progress to maturity in Christ, warning us against remaining like newly-born Christians. It is well beyond the scope of our studies to examine this great subject in detail and therefore we shall focus our thoughts on how faith enables Christ the Cornerstone to be laid properly in our lives.

Laying on of Hands

Christopher Alton • Hebrews 6

Our next foundation stone is described as the laying on of hands. So far we have considered how we turned from our old way of thinking and lifestyle, to embrace Christ by faith; we have also looked at our baptism into Christ’s death, our old life being crucified and its power over us being cut o
