I remember while in a place called El Dama Ravine in Kenya, that I sat in front of an octogenarian missionary. Listening to his life events, the history of Kenya came alive from the African version of the Trail of Tears to the tragic loss of his son to a hippopotamus while swimming across the river instead of crossing over the bridge, as instructed. Enthralled at the events being revealed, I realized this man of God is a sage. I listened without saying a word for what must have been hours. Throughout Scripture it is the aged ones who often encourage, bless, instruct and warn the younger generation in every subject pertaining to life's walk. Let's take a listen and hear through Scripture what the Lord has for us through sages and show our appreciation for the sages among us.
