Holy Spirit gives us gifts to equip us for service, empowers us for mission, to build-up the body of Christ for common good.

She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.” But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.
– 2 Kings 4:5-6 (NIV)

Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit. Let us not become conceited, provoking and envying each other. - Galatians 5:24–26 (NIV)

And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us. - Romans 5:5
God poured out his Spirit on his people on the day of Pentecost. When he poured out his Spirit, he poured into our hearts faith, hope, and love. God’s love poured into us through his Spirit is the fuel for following Jesus. Love is what compels us to share the gospel and serve others.

For I will pour water on the thirsty land, and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your offspring, and my blessing on your descendants. - Isaiah 44:3
God promised his people that he would pour out his Spirit. With the prophet Joel, God said, “I will pour out my Spirit on all people.” In Acts 2, when Israel was gathered for the Feast of Weeks (Pentecost) the Holy Spirit fell upon the followers of Jesus and the crowds heard them speak in each of their own languages. The disciples and Peter were telling the people of the wonders of God and the salvation that comes through Jesus Christ.
