When the Lord speaks to us or impresses something on our heart by the Holy Spirit it is important and valuable. The scriptures that we write down and the words and phrases that He gives us are wisdom and direction in our life. It becomes more valuable when we review it, revisit it, and continue to pray over it until it becomes an "action item" on our daily agenda.
God's Report - Day 20

We want to know what's going on so that we can do something to become more healthy. In a spiritual way we want to know how to grow in the areas that we have been weak in. We want to change from faith to faith and glory to glory, moving higher all the time. Intentional growth comes as a result of us doing something based on the report that comes from the Lord.

As we examine our own heart and question our motives, we should consistently ask our self, “Are we doing what we’re doing and saying what we’re saying because we love? Or is it because I’m thinking about myself.” Lord, show me if there is any self-centeredness in me. Examine me Lord and examine my motives.

The motives are the very root of our actions. When we ask the Lord to examine our motives we are asking Him to get to the root of the real reason that we do what we do and say what we say. He can show us our motives, and also teach us and train us to operate from motives that are in line with his word.

God's greatest gift to man, besides Jesus, is our will or the ability to choose. With our will, we get to choose to be obedient to God's will. Using our faith and choosing to obey Him is pleasing to our heavenly father. We need to choose to resolve our will, to renew our mind, and fix our mind and submit our total being to God's spirit and word.

Just like our mind and our emotions, our will is a very critical area. The enemy knows if he can wear our minds and our emotions down to the point where we are weary, he can have more influence over our will. Allowing the Lord, to search the motives of your heart that affect your will is an extremely deep dive.

In order to be healthy in our emotions we need to understand how to discern our emotions and deal with them according to the word of God. The bottom line to asking and allowing the Holy Spirit to examine our emotions is so that he can show us what we need to correct and give us the steps to correct it.

The Holy Spirit is our helper and will help us by examining our heart when we ask him to and allow him to. Ask him in prayer to examine your emotions. If you've been hurt, disappointed, brokenhearted, and continue to hang onto any bitterness, resentment or unforgiveness the Holy Spirit will help you in the area forgiveness.

Our mind is a critical part of our soul when we ask the Lord to examine us. Prayer is the place where we must ask the Holy Spirit to analyze any strongholds that we may be dealing with. In prayer, we come before Him with His word and expect Him to uncover and unveil where our thoughts may be off target.
Submit In Humility - Day 8

Humility is seen in submission. In order for the Lord to examine us we have to submit to Him and give Him full access to every area of our lives. To be humble also means to be teachable. The Holy Spirit will teach us when, and if we are humble.
Prayer Opens Our Heart - Day 7

We must be open before the Lord to begin the examination process. Without being open before God, the exam will never happen. When we pray, it opens our hearts so that God can search them to reveal any hidden things that need to be brought into the light.
Reveal My Heart - Day 6

To reveal something is like taking the cover off of something that has been hidden. We all have moments in our lives where we briefly look at ourselves and think everything is okay. But the Holy Spirit reveals our innermost thoughts and intentions when we look at ourselves through the lens of God's Word. God knows everything about us – even more than we know about ourselves – so it makes sense that he would use his powerful word as a tool for revealing these things to us.
Exam Room - Day 5

We don’t always see ourselves the way that God sees us, but when we spend time in prayer, it becomes a kind of examination room where He reveals those things within us that need correcting. By asking the Lord to examine us through prayer, we open up our hearts so that He can shine His truth in us. His truth is the only thing powerful enough to help us change.
