In this Mother’s day Sermon, Pastor Jamey first shares a the story of Hagar in the book of Genesis, when she calls God “El Roi” (The God who sees me). After a prayer for the amazing mothers, we dove right into the message finishing off 1 Thessalonians 1. Pastor Jamey shares the importance of sharing your faith with those around you. There is power in sharing what God has done in your life! Listen in to hear an incredible message!
In this message, Pastor Jamey continues to lead us through our Summer in Thessalonians series. Here he teaches through 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12. We hear about persevering in our faith. Are you willing to suffer for Jesus? We need to be authentic and should never shy away from sharing the gospel with those around us. Listen in for an incredible message.
“When we are grounded in the word, we aren’t distracted by the things around us.” In this message Pastor Jamey continues to dive into 1 Thessalonians 2, and speaks on opposition and correction. We won’t only receive opposition from unbelievers, but many times from believers…
Pastor Jamey begins the message with an address to the church. As the church, we need to stop categorizing sin, saying that one sin is worse than another. Reality is that Pride is one of the biggest sins that God warns about, yet our culture is celebrating it for an entire month. As Christians we need to speak the truth; we need to speak the Bible rather than demonstrating tolerance for sin as our culture promotes. We need to realize that we are ALL sinners saved by grace and like God, we need to love people who sin. But while loving people, we have to also speak the truth of the Word of God, confronting sin. As God frees us from sin, we find that it drives us to Him. This demonstrates that our deepest needs becomes gifts when they drive us to depend on God.
This Father’s Day, we continue our Summer in Thessalonians by delving into the first ten verses of 1 Thessalonians 4. Pastor Jamey talks about the process of Sanctification where we gradually change on the outside based upon the influence of the Holy Spirit on the inside. Sanctification is a simple process of doing what the Holy Spirit tells us to do. As simple as it is, this separation from evil and drawing close to God can be a daunting task. Fortunate for us, the Holy Spirit also provides the power to do what He asks us to do.
n this message, we get to hear from one of the three overseers of Life Community Church, Pastor Mike Ploen. Pastor Mike takes us through the second part of 1 Thessalonians 4, discussing the return of Jesus. His message is centered around two main points that Paul was dealing with, that we as believers also deal with today. These are: Emotions (Life after death), and Impatience (Why hasn’t Jesus returned yet?). Listen in to hear a great message Thanks for listening! Follow us on Facebook or YouTube.
In this message, Pastor Jamey Bridges takes us through 1 Thessalonians 5. He discusses the warning we need to give to others around us. “To Warn others, we need to be prayerful, humble, Christlike and knowledgeable of God’s word.” Listen in to hear a great message.
Pastor Jamey continues to bring us through Summer in Thessalonians series. He finishes up 1 Thessalonians and then brings us into 2 Thessalonians 1:3-6. He once again reminds us to ALWAYS BE JOYFUL, NEVER STOP PRAYING, GIVE THANKS IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES. Pastor also speaks on the book of 1 Samuel, when David escapes the cave of Adullam. What cave is in your life that you need to escape? It is time to let God bring you out of the cave.
In 2 Thessalonians 2, Paul is talking with the Thessalonica church, who have been hearing that “The Day of the Lord” has already passed. He reminds them that this is a day in the FUTURE and that there are many distinguishable things that will happen BEFORE this day comes. We, like the the Thessalonians, frequently believe things that are untrue. Just as Paul was concerned for these believers because their foundation had been shaken by lies, God shows concern for us, warning us not to be deceived. How do we fight this? Like the Bereans in Acts 17:11, we fight this by ensuring that we ALWAYS compare what we’ve heard to the Word of God. Whether a message is from a friend, a teacher or a pastor, the Word of God always trumps. Our defense is in the Word and our relationship with God. The more we know them, the more easily we will be able to identify and avoid deception in what ever form it appears.
Trials and tests builds faith. It’s not something we always want to hear or appreciate when we are walking through the fire. But as the Lord walks with us within those trials we can utilize those same fires to refine and strengthen our faith, thus drawing closer to Him. Never in history has information been so readily available. With so much information available, it can be easy to lose focus on what is important. Simply said, God is what’s important. Our purpose is to bring Glory to Him, and for us to do that we’ve got to pursue Him in our everything. In our relationships, in our free time, in our business, in all of our life we need to be about God. He is the light, and our jobs as Christians is to reflect His light everywhere and in everything that we do. As Matthew says, “You are a light of the world.” (Matt 5:14)
