Church. A seemingly simple term, from the Greek word Ekklesia. Church is defined as “a called-out assembly or congregation.” The Church is a people called out of this world system to follow Jesus Christ. The Church is Christ’s Body and His Bride. The Church is a people with its own language. At times that language may be confusing to people within and without the Church.
Our new series, Church Words will define some keywords often used but perhaps not understood. What are salvation and sanctification? How are we regenerated? What is repentance? What does God’s grace and mercy mean for us? Over the next five weeks, we will examine some of these church words, so that we may better understand God’s great love and be able to better communicate His love and plan for us all.
