Part 3 - Jonah Nineveh and the big - Living large in small spaces

Kidz Life Ages 2 to 8

May 24, 2020 • Erouane Langard

Dear parents & Children,

Welcome to Kidz Life online!
Family, it is so great to know and hear that God is still doing something in our tiny little spaces.

Today’s story was all about Jonah, Nineveh and the big, big fish!
We see that Jonah chose to run away from God’s word and command and even as he did, God still provided the big fish to keep him safe from the torrent of the sea. We now know that God pursues us even when we are running away from Him. And when Jonah was stuck in the belly of little fish, he had time to reflect and pray to God.

We also learnt that God loved the people of Nineveh so much that he wanted to rescue them from their own sins and rebellion through Jonah. God doesn’t love us for what we do for Him; He loves us because He is our father no matter what we do.

Bible story in the bible: The book of Jonah

Here is our prayer for this morning:

Dear God,
Thank you for yet another day we get to know you a little more.
Thank you for our health and our family health.
Would you help me, help us become more obedient to you and run towards you? Teach us how to become doers of your word.

In your name we pray Amen!

Activity: Recreate the story:

Balloon fish
What you need:
 Empty Toilet paper rolls
 Crayons
 A cut out picture of your face ( make it round if possible)
 Tissue paper ( to make a super hero cape)
 Straws ( to make arms)
 Glue

Follow the step by step instructions
Put a toy in your balloon and blow some air into it. When you feel like the balloon is big enough, tie the end into a knot. Now, draw some fish eyes on the balloon. Draw two fish thins, a tail on a piece of paper and using a pair of scissors, cut it out. Now, stick you thins in either sides of your balloon and glue the tail at the end of your balloon where you previously made knot. Throw your balloon in a basin or bath tube filled with water and play with it.

There you go! You have your Big fish and Jonah swallowed in it and praying to God.
