Sermon Transcript:
Well, good morning. How's
everybody doing this morning? Great. My name is Elias Montenegro, and if you want to say that in Spanish, it's Elias.
And you decided, you know, say
it in Hebrew. You're Jewish. Say
it's Elijah. I always get these questions all the time, so I'm bringing it up front.
Okay,
today here this morning. My lovely wife, Anna, my son, Eli, Junior and Valerie, is here this morning, and it's a pleasure to be here this morning with you guys, sharing the Word of God. One thing I always ask myself before I even start preaching is God speak to me. And definitely this message was preached to me first, before I even bring it up to you guys this morning, and I pray because it's something that's needed. I always pray, God, you know, what do you need to say? Because it's not me. I can say so many things. I can pick up the Bible and get a message in five minutes. My heart is what do we need to hear from you? God, God, that's what counts. Do I hear in amen, amen. So this morning, I decided to call my sermon. Wait
I hear, I don't hear any mean to that.
How many of you love to wait?
I want to see the hands, please. Just love to wait. I mean, I'd see a big line. I just love that
good. Then this is the right message for this service. This morning
I go to the bank. This developing this message. I some reason, everywhere I go, I'm being needed to wait. I go to the bank. Last weekend, there was like 20 people on the line. The gentleman in front of me, he took like 20 minutes with the attendant, and I got this is this is something need to speak to us for. It's something patient. Is something we're born with. You guys remember when you had your babies? What does that baby do as soon as he's hungry,
he doesn't tap you. He cries, right?
What does he want? His milk
now
and unfortunately today, we live in a society where we want things when immediately I was in I'll show this testimony later on. But this week, I was with my brother, and we were ordering things. My dad was sick, and, you know, we were ordering stuff for him for the house, and he has Amazon Prime, and I was going to pick up some stuff in his store. He goes, Don't worry about it. I'll get in the house. He ordered. I go, Well, it's going to get here in a couple of days. No, he got to the same day. That's the society we
live in today. We
go to a we want high, you know, shipping the same day. We internet, fast internet. We want things we have fast foods. You guys enjoy that you go in five minutes, your orders on the other side. It seems like it's natural. But, you know what? As a child, I was raised in the country, you know, I experienced a country lifestyle with my grandparents. They had a cattle ranch. If you wanted eggs, you got to go out there and get your eggs. You wanted chicken, you'll go out to the corral and say, which one do you want? It took time. You wanted milk. Well, here there's a cow, and it took time. But you know what that was nutritional? I mean that milk doesn't compare what is today, that was thick, nutritional milk, which doesn't compare what we have today, which is 90% water, but this is the society we live today. We want things now, and what does that produce in our lives? It's calling patience. And we need we want society. We want it now, and we and sometimes when we bring it to God, we want things to get to God to answer things when I pray now,
but there's a secret,
getting the things now. Sometimes it's not the best
who wants the best in their lives.
Sometimes waiting leads people to value the things they're waiting for even more. And many times we pray, we fast and things don't come about because we want it now and not on God's timing. Did you know that God has a schedule for everything? And the problem we have a society nowadays, including me, we try to put God in our schedule, and that's when we fail, because we try to do things, and we try to God do things in our will and why plans and in our wisdom, and it never comes to pass, or it doesn't come. And then we get frustrated, and we leave the church and we blame God for it. But let me tell you this morning, God has a schedule for you guys. God loves you, and he wants the best for each one of you, and there's a purpose. And let me tell you this much. This is kind of from the Lord there's he loves you so much, and there's a purpose you weren't created by accidentally. There's definitely purpose in each one of you,
and it's up to us to wait for it
and figure out what it is
that's what we call patience.
Did you know that a tree has roots, and the deeper those roots go in, it makes a tree stronger. So a lot of times, God's making us wait because he's four minutes. He's preparing the soil. He's preparing the roots. He wants to make it strong.
Him. He wants to be ready
for what he's going to give you. You're
going to be successful at it. But
what does the Bible say about patience? Well, the
first thing it says, it talks about one of the fruits of the Spirit.
What is it? First, Galatians, 522,
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self control, against such things. There is no law.
But what is fruit?
We gotta plant a seed, right? What does that seed do?
It grows.
You gotta water it,
you gotta tilt it, you gotta fertilize it, and then it produces a fruit. So many times it's in our lives, you gotta understand, there's a fruit, there's
a process that goes in there.
Patient doesn't come natural.
I'm one for it. I need more of it. I've grown, but I think I need more patience in my life. I I like the Bible. It brings us a couple of stories. Who remembers King David.
He's one of my favorite characters in the Bible.
David was given a promise when he was approximately 15 years old.
The prophet Samuel went to his house right, and
he said he saw the tallest, the most handsome guy. And he goes, for surely he's got to be the next thing I'm going to anoint. Well, he anointed all of them. Oh, well, I'm sorry. He looked through all of them, and God told him it's none of those. And his father said, Well, yeah, is there anybody else in your household? Oh, yeah, there's little babies. He's tending his sheep.
Well, bring him over.
He says, For surely that's going to be the next king of Israel. But you know what the problem is. He anointed David when he was a young man. You know how long it took before he became a king, 15 years before he possessed Judah, seven years by the time he was king of Israel. Altogether, it's 22 years. 22 years by the time God gave him a promise, until that promise was fulfilled, how
long you've been waiting for your promise?
Abraham? Abraham is promised a child, right? That's how it's supposed to be at his old age. And he was unbelieving about it. But he waited 25 years for his promise to be fulfilled.
Unfortunately, Abraham got a little bit impatient.
Any impatient people here tonight or this morning,
and he said, Let me, God's taking too long.
Let me give him some help.
Agar came in the picture. You know, the story behind that was a big mistake, till now we're paying for his mistakes. Many times when God gave you a promise, you try to help God things do on your own, but it's definitely not the right thing to do. We call it this entity called the enemy, who tries to move you out, of course, and decides that you know more than God does. And what happens is it create a problem in your life, impatience. I think it's a very powerful attack by the enemy. And this morning, you've got to bring it to light, because many of you have a destiny, a purpose and a calling that is fulfilling, and he wants to take you out, of course, but
are we going to let him?
There's one more we're going to dig dive into Joseph.
He's a pretty interesting character, and we're going to be talking a little bit about him this morning. He was 17 years old when he had two amazing dreams. What was he? He basically dreamed he was going to be a great leader, and he brought it up to his brothers, right? It was two dreams.
One of them says, and he says, My bunny, here's one of the dreams. And he drowned his my bundle stood up and your bundles gathered around me and bowed down. Then he said, I had a second dream, says the sun and the moon and the 11th star bowed down before me. Now one of the things he made a mistake on. He shared that dream with who his brothers was. He loved by his brothers. He was hated. He was even hated more because his father had given him a color tunic, a coat. You gotta remember, with that coat, he stood up. In biblical times, you didn't have a lot of colors, so if you had a colorful tunic in his over him, he stood up like a sore thumb. Second of thing, he was his favorite son. So he had a lot of things against him. One is his brother hated him and they wanted to kill him.
But one day, and this is what you understand this morning, he didn't have a lot of discernment to be a king. He said he was going to be a great leader,
but was he ready at 17? Okay,
I'm not saying age has anything to do with it. It's maturity. I'm so I know people who are 17, they're more mature than somebody that's 50, so maturity doesn't come at age. But he liked maturity at 17, and during those 17 years, he liked discernment, humility and Wisdom. Was he ready to be a king at that moment, absolutely not. So God had to take him to his little schedule and his school to form him into who God wanted him to be, because he was going to be something mighty. But it wasn't his time yet. It needed a college of testing before he even took place what God had called for him. But one day, his father said, I want you to go. Where do you want to go to you know, I want you to see how your brother is doing. But this is what catches me. The Bible says his father tells him, I want you to go. And this is the voice of God for many of us, because there's got things has prepared for us. And the Father will say, I want you to go. And there's special things he's going to take you through, but it's gotta be a direction, a place and a time. And he goes over to his brothers, right do
you think his brother accepted Joseph right
away? Joseph, thank you. So glad to see you. Thank you. It was glad crunch hair. His brothers, on the other hand, decided to a plan to kill him because they were jealous of him. They wanted to kill his dream. They wanted to kill his vision. And many of you this morning, maybe the enemy has come before you, trying to kill the vision that is inside of you. Eliminate it because you're a thread. There's a purpose, and many people like we blessed through you. But you gotta understand that thing God has put in your heart.
Nobody can stop it
if you follow His will, if you follow his instructions,
what happens next?
They see him come in and what happens to Joseph? Instead of hugging him, they take his color well, they throw him in a they took his coat away, but was it? It's colorful coat. They jam, take something that was so beloved to him, and they throw him in a pit. The Bible said it's a dry pit. Why does it? Why does he make mention as a dry pit? I bet you there were two wells in that place. It goes brother Elias. Why do you say two? Because he tells you what the city name was. What was it? Dayton. Daytime means two wells. In biblical times, if there was a well that dried up, what happened? They built another one. So in my conclusions, I'm an engineer. I do a lot of logics here, that well was empty, and thank God for it. If that, if that well would have been full of water, his eyes that survived him would have been zero because he he can only swim for so long. There's not a lot of space in there. But the Bible says he threw him where in a dry well. And I'm very visual when you throw in that dry well, there's only one way you can look,
where is that up?
And many times you're being tested.
The people you trusted in your relatives and your friends are the same ones that betrayed you. There'd be circumstances, there'd be training, maybe in your lives. And I'm not talking about everybody, but it's in my life when you look around and all your friends are gone, all your relatives are gone, and there's nobody you could depend on, and the only direction I can look on is up, and it's interesting because the Bible also gives us the details. As Joseph was, you know, looking up his brothers were eating together. And it says they looked up when they were eating. They were having fellowship, bonding, unity, their brothers. Wasn't he part of the family, no, but sometimes rejection comes in your life because the father planned it, because there's certain things he's molding in your life. He's preparing you for something. Sometimes Rejection hurts, but it's part of the formation you guys are going through. You can't believe God for it. It's his schooling that he takes you through, because he's building something greater in your life that you're going to use in the future. Now his brothers are having a feast, and I like what it says his brothers, they looked up and they saw caravan isabelites Coming through. Where were their brothers? Looking down? Carnal Joseph was looking up. He knew that his test is going to start and he need to look up because he was the he was the only one he had left. Now you got to remember they weren't just stealing his liberty becoming a slave, because later on, we tell that Isabel, I saw him as a slave, correct? What he was also stealing from him was his Herod. Titch,
having a name of something important in Bible times,
having an inheritance, he can pass on to his family all that was cut from him. He was rejected from his loved ones. And it's one thing to be rejected by your friends, but it's another thing to be loved, rejected by somebody you love so much, a father, a mother, your brother, your best friend, and it hurts and nobody, but I understand that, because I've been there too, betrayed by some of you love so much. But you know what? I look back at it and I go, God, thank you, because what you formed into me is valuable. Because I know there's a plan for my life and there's a plan for you. I
because it's so quiet.
So what happens next? He sold to the isabelites. He is sold to an official, you know, on the guard from from Egypt, and his name is Potiphar. He was sold as a slave. And I gotta read this. I'm not a good public reader, so bear with me please. Soon, Potiphar realized that the Lord was helping Joseph to be successful in whatever he did. Potiphar like Joseph and made him his personal assistant, putting him in charge of his house, all his property. Because of Joseph, the Lord began to bless Potiphar his family and fields Potiphar left everything up to Joseph, and with Joseph, there was only one decision he had to make, and what was that? What am I going to eat? That is one trust man, you have a slave, and you put him in charge of everything that speaks to law about who he was. I understand about Joseph. He was in a tough situation. He was taken from his family, rejected, but he never became bitter. He never complained. In fact, the place where God put him in, he was successful with the talents God had given them, and God will put you in places that you can succeed with the God give, God given talent you have. And each one of us have with talent, I can assure you, God's given you a talent, an ability that nobody else has but you have. It's a natural, innate ability in you. And he was being used in that place. God had him for he was being successful. And you know what it says, God was with him. If God is for you, who can be against you? And he says that everything he touched prospered. He touched his fields, his business, everything he had prospered, as Joseph was in there in many places, you're going to be in places, in key places, and you're going to be a difference in that place. They're going to be noticed. John, Robert, Mary, what is different about you? Your employer is going to notice. Your neighbors are going to notice. Neighbors are going to notice, because it's a presence in your life that it radiates, and that's what he wants. But as soon as you become bitter, sour, what's going to happen? People don't want to be again. You know, with you, it's hard to God to work with you when you when you have that mentality. Now, I understand many people in here might have been betrayed, too, but we gotta forgive. As you forgive, you get rid of that resentment.
But sure enough, he was being successful. But then came the first test he was in, you know, the pot of her towels. Everything goes, going great, and suddenly the Bible says that Joseph was very handsome
and well built,
and who started looking at him
body for his wife.
And the Bible says he first are noticing him,
and she asked him make love to him, but he refused. He kept on worrying everything you know, time after time, and he kept fleeing and fleeing and fleeing, and
he said,
My master had put me in charge of everything you have.
The only thing I can't touch is you. And he doesn't say, am I going to sin against my master? He says, I'm not going to sin against my God. And a lot of times you try to look good in front of people, but the one we gotta be in front of and be faithful to, and the one that's seeing all things is who God. The success he had is because he was faithful to God. And it's interesting, God was faithful to Joseph, but I see throughout the story, he was equally faithful to God. He made sure he lived a holy, a righteous life in front of God. And as a result, God gave him success in everything he did, everything he touched became a blessing, because he knew the secret that God was with them. The one who gave him success was God, and he refused to do what you wanted, even get near her, he said, he pulled away. And a lot of time, temptation will come your life, and it's a test that God's putting you through to see how faithful you are. A lot of times. See, this would have turned history completely around if he would have given to his carnal desires, but he said he fleeted, and many times, some temptations will come your way because you're going in the right direction, and the enemy wants you to go in a different location, you're moving out of your destiny, but there is a purpose, and it's a greater purpose, and I'll touch that in a later chapter.
What does Joseph do?
Does he get rewarded?
I like this story because he says he didn't. He yanks his coat and claims he raped her.
Was it true? No,
it was false. What happens after this? He's put in jail. But the Bible says he wasn't put in a regular jail. He was put in a five star jail. What do I mean by this? He was put in the king you know, the king's jail with all the officials were put into, it wasn't the regular jail. Somehow the king of 40 realized he's righteous. He would never do that, but to save his integrity, he had to save his face. So he puts him in a jail. Where will he be safe? Safer than the regular jail.
So he gets in jail for doing
the right thing. Have you ever been punished for doing the right thing?
Sometimes we have. It is fair, no, but there's a bigger plan into this. He's put in jail. You guys with me so far, a year into that jail time, two prisoners come into jail, the cup bearer and the Baker of The King, and they're in that jail, and they have a dream, right? And nobody can. They were bothered by that dream. And he goes, I can. I can't understand what that dream means. Suddenly they realize there's somebody in this jail that can interpret those dreams. Who was it?
Joseph? Now Joseph
is interesting, because Joseph's the Bible starts CHAPTER 37 starts with Joseph had two dreams, right?
Here's, here's what's funny,
he had two dreams. It's been
10 years with Potiphar and another deer in jail so far 11 years God gave him a promise 11 years ago, and suddenly this gentleman comes over. I have a dream. Honestly, people, if you would have been in Joseph's foot, he goes, Well, I don't believe in dreams anymore. I had a dream. I have been years ago, and God hasn't done anything about it. I don't believe in dreams, but he had faith, and he believed in his God, even though 10 years, 11 years had passed by, he knew that the promise had given them by God was going to come to to fruition. And he believed in God no matter what. 11 years thrown in jail, rejected, sold by his brother, and he still believed the promise I've given them. And he interprets these dreams. And he says, the cup bearer, you're going to be, you know, you're going to be forgiven, you're going to take, you're going to be taken back to the king the baker, unfortunately, says, you know, this is what the dream means. You're going to be executed. And he tells them, okay, as soon as you leave here, please tell the king of Egypt, and this is what he says. But when these things happen, please don't forget to tell the king about me so that I can get out of this place. I was kidnapped from my land of the Hebrews, and here in Egypt, I haven't done anything to deserve being thrown in jail. What did you tell him? Tell the king about me. I'm innocent. I've been here one year. Two years have passed by. How long is that? Three years? 10 years as a slave, three years
in the prison? That's 13 years.
How many of you tonight been waiting 13 years for your promise?
Maybe you've been struggling through things sickness.
Don't know what you've been struggling through, but you know what? If God gave you a promise, he would fulfill it 13 years and he's still faithful and believing in His God because he knew who God was. Many of us have thrown the towel. Many of us have given up because there's no God. And I've seen many people just leave the church. He goes, God, God. It doesn't answer my prayers.
It's in his schedule,
not ours, and he has a schedule, a time and a place
for you and for me.
Two years later.
Here, the Pharaoh is disturbed. He had a disturbing dream, and his wise men, his magicians, magicians, could not interpret what he was trying to put this dream meant he was disturbed. And he's looking for somebody. He was upset. I had to go to somebody can interpret the dream for me, because I'm bothered. There was a dream that really bothered me. And the cup bearer said, you know, there's a young man Hebrew, young man who was a servant of the captain of the guard, was there with us at the time. When we told him our dreams, he explained what each of them meant, and everything happened just as he said, I got my job back and the Baker was put to death. What does the king says? The King said for Joseph, who was quickly. I like the word quickly, because 11 years have passed by, but as soon as God decides to move on your behalf,
things move quickly.
He was brought out of jail,
change his clothes,
shaved,
and it talks about clothing, because in every stage of his life, there was something about his clothing. The tunic and many colors, was taken from him when he was put a body for his house. What happened? His coat was taken from him. So it's sometimes time, every time his
clothes was taken from him.
There was transition in his life. There was something visible that happened. And there's something about the clothing. You see a police officer. What
is it you do?
He's got a uniform, right?
You see a military what does he have? A uniform?
This morning, I
woke up my pajamas and coming to church. What do I do?
I put my church clothes on, right? Thank God for that. Imagine showing up in my pajamas. Here, pajamas here and their Christmas by the way, I already got my Christmas pajamas on red and green and got Santa Claus on it, but it's a transition. I'm coming to church. I can operate in my pajamas in the pulpit.
So he's being transitioned from what from a slave.
He's being promoted where
second in command,
the king said to him, I had a dream, yet no one can explain what it means. I am told that you can interpret dreams, Your Majesty Joseph answered, I can't do it myself, but God can give a good meaning to your dream. He always pointed to God. Many times, people will have an ability, and it's always like I I was listening to a gentleman this week, and it's funny because
in this conversation, I don't know how many eyes I heard coming out of him, and it was funny, we having a conference, and I was thinking, how many eyes I have him, because it's the me i Joe. And I even decided to do a little song about it. After he left, I started dancing like, aye. It was funny, you had to be in the spot, but it was funny. It wasn't the case with Joseph. It was who I can't do it myself. He always pointed to God. He pointed his resources.
He pointed to God. It wasn't about him, it was about God.
And the king told him the dream, right?
And Joseph said, God has given you two dreams to let you know that he has definitely decided to do this and that he will do it as soon the majesty, Your Majesty. He says you should find someone who is wise, discerning and willing to do so that you can put him in charge of Egypt. Then appoint some other officials to collect 1/5 of every crop and harvest in Egypt during the seven years when there is plenty. Give them power to collect the grain during those good years and stored in your cities. It can be stored until is needed during the seven years when there won't be enough grain in Egypt. This will keep the country from being destroyed because of lack of food. The king and his official liked the plan. So the king said to them, who could possibly handle this better than Joseph? After all, the Spirit of God is with him. The king told Joseph, God is the one who has shown you these things. No one else is as wise as you are, or knows as much as you do. I'm putting you in charge of my palace, and everybody will have to obey you. No one will be ever be greater than except no one will ever over you, except me. You are the now the governor of Egypt. You.
What happened to Joseph?
His promotion came,
right? And good. Do
you understand when he was in Pharaoh's house,
it was just a temporary thing, and sometimes small things would come to life, to God test your heart. He was in charge of everything during the in Potiphar house, I'm sorry, but that was just a test, to test him, to promote and prepare him for what he had. God had something greater for him. Sometimes in your life, something temporary will come just to test your heart and to train you, but the best is just to come. And this was a story with Joseph. He was being trained. He was being tested to see how much riches would change his life. Because he wasn't doing the body for his house. He was in charge of everything. And sometimes pride will come in your life. What happens when you're being successful? He gives you a little bit of success, and God will test your heart. And he says, I can do it power, a little bit of power. Pride comes in your life, a little bit of freedom, and you start putting the eyes away from God. But He tested Joseph, and he was successful. What he did a woman come in his life, he said no, because I'm not going to offend my God. And now the time of promotion came. What is it going to be? He was going to be the next in command to Pharaoh. He was going to be the vice president of Egypt. Nobody greater than him but the Pharaoh the king, took his royal king, Royal ring, and put on his Joseph finger. He
gave him his fine
clothes to wear and place a gold chain around his neck. Now you gotta understand, there's a series here. He's first taken his colorful coat jacked out of him. Second, he is taking his coat when he was in Potiphar house, and the third coat, it's the royal quote. This is the one we're looking for in his life.
This is what his purpose in life was.
Because through Joseph, he was going to save his family. He was going to save a nation
from hunger, from starvation.
Now in your life,
what is God calling you to do? Is there something great and powerful that people around you are going to be impacted by you, your husband, your wife, your cousin, your brother? There is a plan for your life, and there's purposes in your life, and sometimes you feel that life is unimportant. Well, believe me, when you got in, God's schedule starts working with you. Gotta take over. I like what Joseph said. He had two sons in Egypt. The king told Joseph
he had two sons. And I like what he says, Man I say, which means God has let me forget all my troubles. And the second someone was Ephraim, God has made me success in the land where I suffered.
What was Joseph saying about
all that trouble that went through was to form my character, all that trouble I went through was to give me wisdom administration. And sometimes you going through things. You might not be going to the same thing as Joseph with, but there's things in your life. In your life you wonder, why am I going through this?
Why has sickness hit my life?
Why is my family rejected me? Why has my friend abandoned me? Why? Why? Why? Why? And I'm praying and I'm fasting, there's no change. Have you asked God? Is God? What is your plan in my life? There's things you can't even imagine. What God has stored for us, but we gotta align with his schedule, not ours, and we get frustrated. Have I been in the same boat? Yes, I've been there too to then realize that God has control of everything in your life, everything,
the smallest thing and the biggest thing, he's got control of it.
I'll share a short testimony with you two weeks ago, what's supposed to be a trip to California to go visit my parents? You're going to celebrate my niece's birthday down there and what's supposed to be, it turned into something completely different. But in the midst of that, I realized God had a plan for everything we were doing. A couple of months later, I wanted to go see my mom and my dad. For some reason God would say no, no wait. So two weeks ago, we decided to drive up there. My it took a ride. My brother, we drove down there. Anyone got there and we noticed my dad, he's He's not the type of guy who shows his weaknesses, and he's just showing signs of help that wasn't very positive. And we get there just in that same night, and the doctor, we you know, he wasn't looking good. And long story short, we. Call the ambulance. He pick him up, and the ambulance says if he would have slept tonight, he probably not would have waking up in the morning. His oxygen level was very low. He wasn't doing very well in his health, but he wasn't telling us. We get there just the nick of time, a day earlier, a day later, would not make it. We take him to the hospital. They put him, you know, stay that was supposed to be one day. He's 434, days in the hospital. But in that time, we were with them. God had a purpose. I was ministering to people at the hospital. People were going through. I was praying for people that were in there. God just used us in the emergency room, but paying people that needed to be prayer. You it.
But sometimes being sensitive to the Spirit
teaches you a bigger picture. Because the day my dad was going to be discharged, and this is the point I'm trying to bring across, we were simply we, you know, the doctor said, Pick him up at nine o'clock in the morning. We're going to pick em up, bring em home. For some reason, all the paperwork was taking longer than what it should be, right? And impatient kicks in. And the discharge office was like two halls down, and they were there all the time when I used to walk by, and that day he was a discharge. There was nobody in there. I walk in there he goes. You know, just following up with two other paperwork, they were gone. They
finally show up and he says, Well, you know what? Sorry,
this is taking a little longer. We're trying to get the insurance or pray a nurse to go to his house and look at him. And it took four hours to that happen. And I go, God patience. What am I going to learn from this? There's a purpose in all this, because I felt something was coming when he's about to be discharged, we realized his oxygen was going low. If I would have taken a home that day, his oxygen would have dropped again. So from that, we learned that he needed an oxygen tank. Well, we
had to call the insurance again.
From that we realized how to wait there three hours to the insurance approved it. That's seven hours me waiting there from the seventh hour, we realized the report came back from a test he did. He says, Well, we just realized that results came back. He has a pretty bad infection in his lungs. We got to get antibiotics. Why am I sharing this with this morning? Because if I my patients would have kicked in, I would have got him out there, you know, nine o'clock in the morning. But patients showed me that there was a process. I needed to wait. God. Needed a way to show me that he needed oxygen to go home. I needed a way to make sure he had to go home with antibiotics. Because if I would have taken him home, he would have been right back in the emergency room. He would have been home without oxygen. It's a small testimony, but it's talking about the plan of God. When you wait on his will,
there's a reason why that happened.
He went home. He's doing great, thank
God. But the point is waiting on God's time, his schedule. He had a purpose for me, waiting for there because he needed the oxygen tank. He needed the antibiotics that I didn't know, but waiting on God's time. It could be big things. It can be small things, but the point this morning is WAIT on Him
to conclude
God was with Joseph.
I like patterns. And if I looked at the whole chapters, I see two stand up. Why? How do you see two? How many dreams did Joseph have? Two? How many wells were there? How many prisons were there? How many years was he waiting for the promise of the prison?
How many sons did he have?
What is two means that you're not alone.
Who is with you?
God is with you. He's never going to leave you oversake you. He is with you. He is faithful, as he was with Joseph. He's going to be with every single one of you. You're not about yourself. And sometimes there'll be times where people, everybody, will abandon you, the people you trust it to, but the one that's going to be there is who to God will be with you. And if he is with you, nobody can be against you. All things are possible for those who believe in Him the Bible, I like what Charles Swindoll says. He says, life is 10% what happens to you, and 90% how you react next thing,
the challenge comes your life, how you going to react?
Patiently, trust believe,
because God's got you,
God's got you and he's got the best for you. I'm going to leave it this A, H, D, T, repeat, a. T, H, D, T, this is a secret from Joseph, accepting, humble, diligent and trusting. What does that mean? Accepting. He did not complain, no matter what the situation he found himself in, not complain humble. He served his master faithfully no matter what the task was. Number three, he he applied the gift God gave him wherever he served. And number four, trusting in God. This is the fundamental attitude,
the power
the other three. Now
this morning, I don't know what you're going through,
but life isn't easy,
their struggles, their challenges, their testing.
If anybody needs prayer tonight, the pulpit is open all I'd love to pray for you. If you God, I can't take it anymore. It's been hard. It hurts. I understand it.
Many of us have been there,
but you're not alone. God is with you.
Prayer is powerful. I've seen it many times. When something's going through, I call my prayer team, and they go pray for me, and I see God just working his way. Work in peace, find a way where there's no way. But you know what? He never leaves you.
He's the one you can trust.
He's always there. He's loving nobody will love you like him, nobody. And the best it's just to come. If you also don't want to come, come to the altar. It's fine. We have a prayer room out outside. You walk that door and you write, our prayer team would be only happy to pray for you, but please pray. Pray is communing, communicating with God, talking to him and talking go both ways, because as you talk to him, it's also a receiving end. Listen to what God's got to say to you, and that's where we need patience. Sometimes we don't listen to what he's got to say to you. We do these five minute prayers and we're up and we're leaving or we're driving, as you know, three minute prayers, it's hard to listen somebody we pray. When you pray for somebody for five minutes. Sometimes you have to be there in time and time again and listen to that quiet voice. He whispered to Elijah. Remember,
what did he do? He whispered.
He whispered
because he wants to see listen. But when he's when he talks, you better. Listen. You
so once again, the pulpit is open this
morning. If he says, you know, how do I even know God? He want to let him in his heart. This
is a good time to let Him in your heart.
Accept Him as your Savior. He can never go wrong with him. You.
