We are going to look at the last half of Genesis 15 as we seek to discover how God speaks to His people. God started a conversation with Abraham at the beginning of chapter 15. The tone in His voice was reassuring. It was filled with compassion and even conviction, but not condemnation. This is the tone of voice God uses with His children. Abraham is concerned with how God will keep His promises so in today’s passage God gives him a glimpse of the future and makes a covenant promise that is irrevocable. In other words, God makes a promise that is not dependent on Abraham doing his part. We will take a close look at what God did and what this means in relationship to how God speaks to us today. I encourage you to read Genesis 15 in preparation.
