Luke 2:8-11 8 “And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And the angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. (10) And the angel said to them. Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which shall be for all the people; 11 for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord”. Romans 3:23 “ALL have sinned and All have fallen short of the glory of God.” John 10:10 “... I came that you may have life and life more abundantly.” Five Tips For JOY at Christmas... That will last you ALL YEAR LONG 1. Place your TRUST fully upon Christ Jesus. Trusting God is so much simpler than not trusting Him. When you doubt God... His Word... and His promises... You're left to your own devices and reasoning when it comes to working things out. A a result you get stressed out. Proverbs 3:5 “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” 2 Examine your life and address any known sin. 2 Corinthians 13:5 “Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test!” 1 John 1:9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Psalm 51:12 “Restore the joy of Your salvation to me, and give me a willing spirit.” 3 Set your eyes on the prize. Philippians 3:14 “I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.” By keeping your eyes on “Prize” ... You are consistently reminding yourself that: • You belong to God • You have purpose • Your life matters • Today is worth living What is our prize? • To know Christ • To have Christ • To be in unity with Christ • To experience the power of Christ • To receive eternal life 4 Be generous and invest in others The Bible is clear that we are to live our lives generously. 1 John 3:16-18 “By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. 17 But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? 18 Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth. John 13:35 “By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” 5 When life is hard and your are struggling with all of life’s circumstances one of the quickest ways to get reprieve is ... • To find a way to serve someone • To give of your time, money or any other of your resources. One of the quickest ways to bing a shot of Heaven’s JOY into your life is to find a way to be generous and to give and invest in another persons life. Proverbs 11:25 “The generous will prosper; those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.”

Mark 11: 7-10 7 “And they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it, and he sat on it. 8 And many spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut from the fields. 9 And those who went before and those who followed were shouting, “Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! 10 Blessed is the coming kingdom of our father David! Hosanna in the highest!” Psalm 118:25 – 26 (NLT) 25 “Save us, we pray, O Lord! O Lord, we pray, give us success! 26 Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. We bless you from the house of the Lord.? Zechariah 9:9 “Rejoice, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem! Look, your king is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet he is humble, riding on a donkey— riding on a donkey’s colt. Luke 19:41-44 41 “And when he drew near and saw the city, he wept over it, 42 saying, “Would that you, even you, had known on this day the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. 43 For the days will come upon you, when your enemies will set up a barricade around you and surround you and hem you in on every side 44 and tear you down to the ground, you and your children within you. And they will not leave one stone upon another in you, because you did not know the time of your visitation.” Luke 13:34 34 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing! Matthew 27:22-23 22 we hear the crowds loud and clear... “Pilate said to them, “Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They ALL said, “Let him be crucified!” 23 And he said, “Why? What evil has he done?” But they shouted all the more, “Let him be crucified!” Philippians 2:10–11 10 “So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11 and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Revelation 7:9 9 “There before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb. They were wearing white robes and were holding palm branches in their hands” Revelation 7:10 10 “Salvation belongs to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb” Matthew 16:1-3 says, 1 “The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven. 2 He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ 3 and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ Matthew 24:3-8 3 “As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” 4 And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. 5 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes, in various places. 8 All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.” Matthew 24:3-8 3 “As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?” 4 And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. 5 For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. 6 And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. 7 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes and pestilence in various places. 8 All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.” Leading up to both the Rapture of the Church and The Great Tribulation... Mark 13:2 ““But concerning that day or that hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.” 2 Peter 3:9 “The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.” 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 16 “ For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words. The Surrender - part 2

Generous Me Series • March 29, 2020 • Lead Pastor Tim Moen

The SURRENDER is the most powerful place that anyone of us could find ourselves in. Matthew 16:24 “Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me.” The VICTORY you are seeking from God requires your complete SURRENDER to Him in every part of your life! Mark 11:4-6 4 “And they went away and found a colt tied at a door outside in the street, and they untied it. 5 And some of those standing there said to them, “What are you doing, untying the colt?” 6 And they told them what Jesus had said, and they let them go.” Mark 16:15-16 15 "And he said to them, “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation. 16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Philippians 1:20-21... 20 “it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 14 “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 1 John 1:9 9 “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Romans 10:9-10 9 “ if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.” Let’s pray!
