Infinite Blessings

October 21, 2018 • Lead Pastor Tim Moen

Infinite - limitless or endless in space, extent, or size; impossible to measure or calculate. Blessings - God's favor and protection. God’s favor - What is it? The best definition of the word favor is “demonstrated delight.” God shows favor to the ones who delight in... connect with... and give honor to Him. Isaiah 66:2 “All these things my hand has made, and so all these things came to be, declares the Lord. But this is the one to whom I will look: he who is humble and contrite in spirit and trembles at my word.” 2 Chronicles 16:9 “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him...” Isaiah 41:10 “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Matthew 10:29-30 “Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.” 1 Sam 2:9 “He will guard the feet of his faithful servants, but the wicked will be silenced in the place of darkness.” Psalm 4:8 “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 91:1-2 “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Assurances of the Blessed 1. The Assurance that nothing can happen to us apart from His good purpose. Romans 8:28 “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” 2. The assurance that God is always watching me and listening to me. Psalm 34:15 “The eyes of the Lord are toward the righteous and his ears toward their cry.” 3. The assurance that my sins are covered! Romans 4:7 ““Blessed are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered...” 4. The assurance that God is ALWAYS with us! Isaiah 41:10 "fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Matthew 28:20 “teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” We can grow our blessings! 1 Samuel 2:26 “Now the boy Samuel continued to grow both in stature and in favor with the LORD and also with man.” Luke 2:52 “And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.” How do we grow our blessings? Matthew 6:33 “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” PRIORITIZE - Get your priorities straight!

The Surrender

Matthew 6:24-33 24 No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money. 25 Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? 28And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?   31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all.   33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Luke 4:18 18 Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed. #God's got you covered! 1 Peter 5:8 8 Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 2 Corinthians 10:5 KJV 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. Genesis 22:5 5 Then Abraham said to his young men, “Stay here with the donkey; I and the boy will go over there and worship and come again to you.” # ”THE LORD WILL PROVIDE” Abraham named the place Yahweh-Yireh (Jehovah Jireh) Matthew 6:27 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Psalm 20:7 7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God. Psalm 9:10 10 And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you. 1 Peter 5:6-7 6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, 7 casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

John 14:26 But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all that I have said to you. Ephesians 5:15-21 15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart, 20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ. 1 Thessalonians 5:18 18 In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. We can’t always give thanks FOR everything, but we can always give thanks IN everything. ~Ruth Bell Graham The heart must be alive with gracious gratitude, or the leaf cannot long be green with living holiness. ~C.H. Spurgeon I have not always found it easy to practice this duty; this I confess to my shame. ~C.H. Spurgeon Colossians 3:17 17 And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Job 1:21 21 Naked I came from my mother's womb, and naked shall I return. The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord. 2 Corinthians 4:15 15 For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God. Psalm 103:1-5 God fills my life with good things. Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's. Romans 12:2 12 Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. Deuteronomy 28:1-3 And if you faithfully obey the voice of the Lord your God, being careful to do all his commandments that I command you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the earth. And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, if you obey the voice of the Lord your God. Blessed shall you be in the city, and blessed shall you be in the field. Philippians 4:11-13 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. I can do all things through him who strengthens me.

Church Cancellation

Lead Pastor Tim Moen

Hello Liberty Church, I trust this letter finds you doing well.  I am writing today to bring you some updates from the church.   As you may be aware, several states have been issuing executive orders limiting gatherings in order to help stop the spread of the Coronavirus. Though Massachusetts has not yet issued an executive order several of our schools, colleges and businesses have been closing their doors. Our pastoral leadership team has met to discuss what all of this means and most importantly how we will respond as a church.  We have also networked with several churches in the area and a few throughout the country to make the best decisions we can for our Liberty Church family. In light of the circumstances, we have made the decision to cancel all Liberty Church activities for this weekend. There will be no Student Life or ManUp worship service tomorrow night, March 13th. We have also cancelled all our services for this weekend, March 14th and 15th as well as all church activities over the weekend. However, on Sunday at 9:00 a.m. I will be broadcasting live with our worship team to bring you a worship service.  You can find us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/LibertyChurchesMA or search for Liberty Churches on YouTube.  You can also find these links by going to our website at http://www.libertychurches.org   Although the church will be closed, we will still have the opportunity to worship together via social media and praying you are able to join in with us. Finally, let me leave you with this, Jesus says in Matthew 16:18, “I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.”  We do not need to fear, but we do want to be wise. We know we have an enemy that wants to destroy and wreak havoc but our God is greater and we continue to trust in Him. Praying for you and your family.  You are loved. Loving People to Christ, Pastor Moen
