Mighty Men

David was accompanied by over 400 men in his times of running from Saul, war, and leading as king. These men were described as men in distress, debt, and discontent, but when they are spoken of at the end of David's reign they are described as mighty men. God values "promises". He is a promise keeper. He says it is better to not even make a promise than to make it and break it.
