Join us for a special Sunday worship experience – the Psalmist (Psalm 150:6) calls out “let everything that has breath praise the LORD!” We will be raising our voices in thanks to God as well as singing praises! We invite you to come, see, and participate in the giving of thanks to God. We’ve all experienced challenges in the past 2 years and its time to come together and remind one another that God is at work and worthy of praise!

At Lakeside we talk a lot about leaving room at the table for more people to join us, and the importance of genuine relationships with each other and with God. We believe that we’re part of an extended family that eclipses race, color, gender, and socio-economic status. What is it that unites us, and provides us with something our inner most being longs for – home? Join us as we explore what Jesus meant when He said "those who follow Me, keep my commands, and know the Father are my family." If ever you needed encouragement – this may be the time to join us. As Judy Garland’s Dorothy famously said, “There’s no place like home.”

What gets you out of bed in the morning? Is there something more to life than earning a living, raising a family, and watching Netflix? What is my ultimate purpose in life? These are some of the big existential questions that lay inside the closet of our minds. Jesus tells us that it is the Devil who comes to steal and destroy our lives, but it is Jesus (the Good Shepherd) Who has come to give us life abundantly. What does the abundant life look like for us? Jesus ran into more than a few people whom He sent home examining their lives. Jesus said “Take up your cross and follow Me!”. Can you join us in thinking beyond what we can see? When we do we might find our reach far exceeds our grasp with Jesus!

There is an old Shetland saying, “Where you’re walking is where you’re going, not where you say you’re going.” Jesus calls Christians to think about how they’re spending their time, talent, and treasure, and what it reveals about them. Is what Christians say is worth their time, talent, and treasure truly worthy? What would you say you value most in life? To whom and, or what do you give you time, talent, and treasure to? The answers may surprise us.

How do you remain calm in the face of adversity, shifting circumstance, or the instability that comes with everyday life? Jesus told His followers not to stress out and that He was going to give them a peace that the world around them couldn’t give. Does Jesus offer us, his followers in 2022, the same peace? What is a peace that surpasses all comprehension? Who imparts this peace into our lives, thinking, and emotions? Is the peace of God a solo experience or could it encompass a more nuanced meaning that connects the individual with other believers? The peace of God is so much more than the world’s “hakuna matata.” Come and see what Jesus and the writers of the Scripture have to teach about God’s peace. You’ll be encouraged and find hope. This is a peace like none other.
