Declaration of Dependence

Being Free

June 23, 2019 • Vince DiPaola

The Declaration of Independence is one of the most important documents in the history of the United States. It was an official act taken by all 13 American colonies in declaring independence from British rule in the summer of 1776. The final draft of the Declaration of Independence was adopted on July 4, 1776, but the actual signing of the final document was on August 2, 1776. Writing and signing the Declaration of Independence took courage, but it was an important step in the founding of our government. While declaring our independence as a nation has proven to be a great decision, the exact opposite decision is needed to find and maintain our freedom as a follower of Jesus Christ: we need a declaration of "dependence" on God's grace. In Pauls' letter to the Galatian church, we'll learn how to be free and stay free in Jesus when you declare your dependence on Him and on His grace.
