Have you ever wished you could talk to someone who could help you map out your life? Someone with years of wisdom and insight… Someone who had learned from their mistakes and was able to share with you how to the avoid pitfalls that they experienced. Wouldn’t it be nice to follow someone who had already walked down the path that you want to take and learn their life lessons! For the last eight weeks we have been taking a journey together as we have explored Psalm 23; the magnificent psalm written by David but inspired by God. On the surface it looks like a story of a shepherd recounting the events of the full year of a sheep’s life. He takes his sheep from the home base out into the green pastures, along the still waters, up through the mountain valleys to the high plains of the summer and safely back to the home base. Like. Thanks for joining us online today as we continue our series on Psalm 23. Last week I repeated the first 5 words of this Psalm, “the Lord is my shepherd” over a dozen times to help us remember that powerful phrase! We also learned that we can be content and aren’t designed to carry the weight of worry… Unfortunately, worry is something we have learned to do well. Sheep don’t worry – they just follow the shepherd & we need to do the same.

Psalm 23 - Part 1

Today we are beginning a new series on Psalm 23, one of the most beloved passages in the Bible. • This short psalm has been used to bring comfort to thousands of people over the years. David probably wrote this psalm late in his life. In this psalm David deals with some of the difficult things he experienced during his long walk with the Lord. • David was a man who had experienced tremendous victories and endured many hardships and burdens in his life. Through this Psalm David teaches us how to trust God in every area to the very end of our lives!
