Anticipating the birth of a child stirs up all sorts of conflicting feelings – both anxiety of the unknown, but also expectant joy. Waiting for the arrival of Jesus stirred up the whole ancient world, but the angel declared he would also “bring great joy to all the people”. No-one can cancel that announcement. The good news of Jesus would cause a “weary world” to rejoice!
