Father's Day 2019

Why We Must Honour Our Fathers

June 16, 2019 • Pastor James Richards • Exodus 20:12

If we are going to flourish in life, the Bible makes it clear we must honour our father and mother. In this message, discover the results of honouring your natural father, spiritual father, and Heavenly Father. Further Scripture: Genesis 1:1, 2 Corinthians 5:17, Malachi 4:6, Ephesians 4:31-32, Luke 6:35, Hebrews 11:12-16, Joshua 24:15, Exodus 2:15, 1 Corinthians 4:15, Psalm 133:1-3, 1 Timothy 4:12, Matthew 6:9, Psalm 68:5-6, 1 Corinthians 4:15, 11:1 Apply The Word: Have you honoured and prayed for the father figures & leaders in your life? Have you come under righteous spiritual authority as a true son or daughter? Blessing and protection come when we are under authority. Look at the example of Timothy and Paul (1 Timothy 1:2, Acts 16, Philippians 2:19-20, 1-2 Timothy). Take note of your attitudes and actions in response to spiritual authority (whether a parent and/or leader). Consider the condition of your heart and what needs to change so that you are grateful, responsive, listening, and honouring godly authority in your life. Have you held on to hurts or pains of the past from a father or father figure? Have you left all pain or bereavement at the cross? The roots of pain of the past can hold you down and bitter roots will bear bitter fruit. Read Hebrews 11:12-16 and note what bad roots you need to cut; of unforgiveness or pain. Forgive and allow the Lord to in turn minister forgiveness and freedom to you too (Luke 6:35-37). Do you know God as your perfect Father? Do you know His characteristics and have a true relationship with Him? Do you approach Him as a child of God? Read below for 10 Characteristics of our Heavenly Father. If any of these aren’t your experience of God, pray that He will open your eyes to Him so you can live in all that He wants you to experience as a child adopted into the family of God. 1. He has adopted you into His family (Galatians 4:4-5) 2. He leads you to live in freedom (Galatians 4:6-7) 3. He shapes you in your life (Isaiah 64:8) 4. He knows what you have need of and provides for you (Matthew 6:8, 25-26) 5. He knows how to give good gifts (James 1:16-18, Acts 1:4) 6. He is full of grace and mercy towards you (Luke 15:22) 7. He comforts you and gives you peace (2 Corinthians 1:2-4) 8. He is trustworthy even in the hardest of times (Luke 23:46) 9. He encourages you (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17) 10. He loves you (1 John 3:1-3)

Don't Give Up On Your Dreams

Your Dream Will Live Again • July 14, 2019 • Pastor Wes Richards

Many people, especially young people, don't have a dream. They don't see anything in the future. They can't imagine there's any good future for them. The prophet Jeremiah came to a people who'd been in captivity in Babylon and were without a dream; everything was sad, they were taken away from their homeland and away from all the good old days. But Jeremiah came to them and said here are the plans; the Lord has plans for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future. And when you look through the Bible, you see there was a dream of God. He had a dream in the beginning that everything would be good. It says of the days of creation "He created it and it was good". And then sin came in and there was disobedience and there was rebellion leading to separation from God. And people were going their own way apart from God, so their dreams died. But Jesus came to restore the dream, to restore us, to help us dream again, to believe that God's original plan can be restored. Through Christ everything that was lost can be reversed. In this message, originally shared at the evening service, hear why you can dream again; for yourself, your family, and your future.

From Focusing On Your House To Building God's House

July 14, 2019 • Pastor Wes Richards

It is time for the people of God to complete the work that God has instructed; to “build the temple, that I may take pleasure in it and be glorified.” We are called to build for Christ; to build our families, our small groups, our church body, and our church building. In this message, Pastor Wes revisits the prophetic word and scripture shared by Pastor Cesar on his previous two visits to the church. Further Scripture: Ezra 1:5-6, 2:68-69, 3:2, Zechariah 4:6-10, Matthew 6:33‬ Apply The Word: Are you focused on building the house of God? Does all of your best effort go to God or somewhere else? Where are your priorities? To build the house of the Lord will require that we commit our best time, money, effort, and talents to see that the cause of Christ and His Church prospers in every way. While we may be in a situation where our meeting places are ‘a ruin’, God wants us to realise the urgency to move forward in His purpose for the people of God. It’s time to change priorities to making the building of the house of the Lord your first priority. Take note of anything that has been given priority in your time, money, effort, and talents and note how you can give of these areas to God’s Kingdom. Share what areas you can give, help, or serve with your small group leader and take action today!

God Loves The World

International Sunday 2019 • July 7, 2019 • Pastor Wes Richards

God loves the world and He has shown this in many ways. And He loves you too; far more than you can imagine. Nothing need ever separate you from the love of God. Discover how you can know for certain a love that is for people from every age, background, nation and language. Further Scripture: Luke 2:8-12, Matthew 9:35-36, 1 John 3:16, 1 John 4:10, Romans 5:7-8, 1 Corinthians 15:22, John 11:25-26, Acts 2:24, Matthew 28:19, Acts 1:8, Acts 2:17-18, Acts 10:34-35, Romans 5:9-10 Apply The Word: Do you know the love of God? Do you walk in the love of God? God wants all people to know His love, and that includes you. If you have not received the love of God and decided to walk wholly with Him, accept God’s offer today. Read the Bible scriptures above that talk of God’s love and recognise that the greatest opportunity you have in life is to live in personal relationship with Almighty God. Do you share the love that you have received with other people? God’s love changes lives and as a follower of Christ you have the great privilege to share the love of God with other people. Consider your lifestyle, decisions, routines, and actions, and make a list of changes you need to make to live a lifestyle that models and shares the love of God to obey the command Jesus gave to us in Matthew 28:19; to “go and make disciples of all nations.”
