Over the course of September, October, and November we will be reinforcing our focus on our mission. Well rooted Christians are naturally devoted to sharing their faith. Last week we began in Matthew 13 and considered the parable of the Sower in v. 1-8. We mentioned that the primary focus in it is on God … not us. He teaches us that all soils are acceptable. God wants the gospel to be heard anywhere and everywhere. A great example of how Jesus did this is found in Luke 15. Here, Jesus does not allow the Pharisaical criticism to impede his mission. The whole purpose of Christianity is our redemption. Our mission is ultimately positive.

The Saving God
The Parable of the Lost Sheep
September 10, 2023 • Luke 15:4–7
The Father Who Loves
October 1, 2023 • Matthew Allen • Luke 15:17–24
During the fall, we are using the parable of the Sower as our blueprint. In September we focused on God’s greatest desire: saving souls. He is the sower. Starting next week we’ll focus on the power of God’s word and the seed we have been called to spread. And finally, in November, we’ll discuss how to sow the seed in any soil … trusting in the power of God to do the work. God is, by nature, the saving God. What’s in this for you? We want you to rediscover the saving God, reinvigorate your spiritual life and reinforce your commitment to share the good news.
Lost and Found
September 17, 2023 • Matthew Allen • Luke 15:8–10
I hope you are enjoying … and more importantly, being challenged by our series this month. We began two weeks ago in Matthew 13.1-8 by taking a look at the parable of the sower. We discovered how God … not us … is the focus of that parable. He sows in both good and bad soil. Last week, we looked at the first of the three parables in Luke 15. These parables point to the saving work of the Father, Son, and Spirit in the rescue of mankind. In them we want you to: Rediscover or acquaint yourself with the Saving God. Reinvigorate your spiritual life - by trusting in the equipping of God in your transformation. And we wish to Reinforce your commitment to share the good news.
