The Flight to Egypt

Dec 17/19.

December 19, 2021 • Brooke Lee • Matthew 2:13–18

Christmas is a season with nostalgia and tradition unlike any other time of year. More than any other part of the Bible, the stories about the birth of Jesus evoke “scenes” in our minds — scenes of mangers and babies and “wise men.” Over the centuries, many churches have captured these images through stained glass. These scenes are skillfully created from small, colorful pieces to reveal one whole story in a single window. Light comes through the image as if the depiction is inviting us in. This year we will explore these pictures and the light that comes through them into our lives as we get our heads and hearts ready for the ARRIVAL.
