As you look in the bible there is a lot of talk about birth. Bible talks about the baby Jesus being born in a manger, it talks about the Christian being born again, and the day of Pentecost represents the birth of the Church. The day in which the Holy Spirit was poured out on the body of believers and empowered them to be witnesses in the early church. His presence was accompanied by signs and wonders and in Peters 1st message he describes a day in the future where the Spirit would once again be poured out before the return of the Lord. We live in that day and age and need the power of the Holy Spirit more than ever before. Listen and apply the words of this message and watch what God does in and through your life.
King David

King David is an incredible study of how God can pick the unlikeliest of people to become the leader of a nation. In light of current events of the 2020 election cycle this message is especially important to understand. We have a habit of seeing through human eyes when God has a way of discerning the real heart of a matter or a person in this instance. May this message remind us all that we are citizens of the Kingdom First. That God is in control. That He is seeking men and women after His own heart and when He finds them he can use them spectacularly in spite of their faults.

The Story of the Prophet Elijah

In today's message we examine the life of Elijah and what a life it was. A man called by God who spoke God’s word to kings, literally controlled the weather through his prayers, called fire down from heaven, helped a widow in her time of need, raised the dead, and was taken to heaven in a blaze of glory. His story is one that demonstrates not only God’s power but renews our hope and trust in God. God was faithful and He demonstrated through Elijah that He is real and that we should worship Him with all that we have within us. As Elijah's days here on earth would draw to a close the anointing that was on his life passes to Elisha. We can only hope that that same kind of anointing would rest on our lives in our generation as well!
Women at the Well

Todays story jumps right to the heart of issues that still plague society like racism, divorce, gender barriers, feelings of inferiority and even humiliation. The story we are about to dive into in today's message is The Woman at the Well. It’s a perfect message for the times we live in. At Journey Church one of our core values is to seek and save that which is lost and we genuinely find Jesus’ example for all of us to follow in todays message. We get to witness a monumental SHIFT happened that day in Samaria and that is incredibly good news. The lady whos story we encounter was not perfect by any means. She was an outcast, an outsider, who had a divine encounter with the God of the universe. She experienced His great love and was saved as a result. Joshua and Caleb

God’s people were enslaved and oppressed in the land of Egypt. They were in need of a SHIFT. They cried out for God to move and he sent Moses to be their deliver to lead them to the edge of the promised land? But who would actually lead them in? None other than Joshua. Joshua’s and his friend Caleb’s faith was something to aspire to. They first entered into the land as spies and saw huge opposition but rather than shrinking back they trusted that God would get them to where he wanted them to go while all the other leaders of Israel shrunk back. God would use them to do mighty exploits. This message is for anyone who might be crying out right now. Let their faith build yours. Let them help you believe that anything is possible when God is on your side. You like them can enter the promised land.
Running with the Giants

As the reader opens the book of Hebrews Paul highlights many of the giants of the faith and shares about the great exploits they accomplished when God showed up in their lives. As you dive into chapter 12 Paul turns the tables on his listeners and challenges us with the concept that there is a great cloud of witnesses watching us and cheering us on in our own generation. That in fact every Christian has a God ordained race to run. God wants to shift us from our couches into the race that he has called us to run. In learning about this shift how will you respond? Will you throw off the weights of sin that hold you back as described in todays verses? Will you dive in and serve God wholeheartedly? Sitting on the sidelines simply is not an option.
