Send me.” - Isaiah 6:8 Pastor Eric brought a great word this morning reminding us how we are sent! We don’t serve the church to mark it on a checklist, to just fill a need, or to pat ourselves on the back. We serve because we are a chosen people, a royal priesthood! We have been called to serve and engage the lost in a loving way with the hope of expanding God’s kingdom!
Are Christians Called to Serve?

Part of being a Christian is a call to service. Our lives our about reflecting Jesus to the world around us and if Jesus came not to be served but to serve then it should be a huge part of who we are and what we do. As believers we are a part of a multigenerational family that passes God’s love from one generation to the next. One of the primary ways that love is reflected is through sacrificial service. This service is an act of worship unto God that demonstrates His love towards humanity. If your a believer in Jesus Christ we challenge you right now to begin serving and watch what God does through your life as you become a part of the greatest mission ever!
Power of the Tongue

The Wake Up Call

It’s clear from scripture that God does not want a lukewarm church. He cautioned the Laodiceans on the subject in the book of Revelation. He also overturned the tables of the money chambers in the temple in Matthew 21. What a wake up call. With so much information, why then are so many Christians lukewarm even in our generation? Why do christians seek after the most popular pastors and most popular churches instead of seeking hard after Jesus? All while society continues to decline. Something has to change. God reminds us in Matthew 21 that His house will be a house of prayer. Keeping that in context every great move of God has been preceded and sustained through prayerful intercession.

What is the purpose of the infilling of the Holy Spirit?

This message was preached on Pentecost Sunday 2021. In it we share the story of how the Holy Spirit of God guided the Jewish people in the wilderness as a cloud by day and fire by night. Later as the temple of God was dedicated in Jerusalem Solomon prayed a prayer of dedication and the fire of God fell on that place and consecrated it. God’s presence would dwell there for years and years but that still was not God’s ultimate desire. His desire was to send His Son Jesus to die in our place for our sins so that we might become part of the family of God. As He ascended into heaven he promised that the Spirit of God would come soon and empower all believers. That would occur as promised on Pentecost Sunday which birthed the church and for which we are celebrating today!
Water Baptism in Spiritual Warfare

In this message we study water baptism in the context of spiritual warfare. We take a look back at symbolic events like God’s people being stuck at the edge of the Red Sea with the Egyptian army hot on their tail. The situation seemed hopeless until God performed a miracle through Moses and parted the sea. His people travelled safely through and the Egyptians were engulfed by the waters. That scene is symbolic of what God does in our lives today. Just as the blood of the Passover lamb saved the Jewish people, the cloud guided them by day, and the waters of the Red Sea where parted that they might be protected. Jesus blood saves us from our sin. The Holy Spirit descends on us from above and fills us and the waters of baptisms ensure our past is dead and buried in a watery grave! We need all 3..
