The Watering Pot - Part 1

Josephine uses a pot she made, a watering pot, to explain how Jesus desires to find us trustworthy with the recipe of life for others. A potter first tests a glaze and pot relationship like Jesus does with us before He entrusts us with the lives of others. We are to be faithful lights so others can benefit from salvation.

Hi, I’m Josephine from the pottery shed. The Lord’s asked me to use clay and the art of pottery to explain His faithfulness (Psalm 117). In the Bible, He says, “I am the Potter, and you are the clay.” (Jeremiah 18:6) There’s so much to learn about that relationship. Through these videos I am going to teach the basic principles about clay, and we will make different things. But basically, the most important thing is our relationship between God through Jesus Christ. So, I hope these are a blessing. In Isaiah it says, “I am the potter, and you are the clay.” (Jeremiah 18:6) So, I just want to say – right from the start, I’m not a great potter. And it’s not about me being a potter, it’s about God being the great potter. If ever there is a time for us to put our trust in something solid and sustainable, and loving and kind, it is today. So, as you see I put the clay on the bat, and the thing God wants to do with us is center us on the Son, the Son that’s sent. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believe should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16) So, that’s what God wants to do to every single person on the planet – is have them come focused and centered on Jesus Christ. That’s the first thing a potter will do. I can’t do anything with that clay until it’s centered. So, that’s our first real look at it. And you can see that I’ve got it on a bat – that’s so I can lift the pot off. The foundation to build our life on is Jesus Christ. He is the foundation that will not be shaken be anything. No terrors of the world, no sickness, no unfortunate incident, no tragedy. We can put our life one hundred percent on the foundation of Jesus Christ. “You’re stuck in the middle of my heart, in the middle of my life.
