Partnership in the Gospel

February 18, 2018 • Russ Miller

1. Look back through the book of Philippians. Take note of where you see people’s names mentioned and what is referenced. What does this tell you about how ministry within the church and outside the church is supposed to look? How does this specifically challenge the way you live your life?

2. Reread Philippians 2:3. Within the church, who are the people that you find most difficult to “consider better than yourself”? What do you think they have to teach you? What are their interested in that you need to give more consideration to?

3. Philippians 2:5-11 reminds us that the motivation of selfless living is Christ. What are some examples of Jesus’ selflessness and humility? Now look at verse 2:1. Consider that Jesus is not just our example – but for those who are in Christ – he is in us and we have participation with his Spirit. How does this reality fuel selfless living?

4. Consider the different relational partnerships (mutual submission) discussed today: among leaders within the church, among the church family, and churches with other churches. Where do you see mutual submission taking place in a healthy way within our church? In what areas do we need to grow? What is your part in that?
