The Danger of Dull

September 5, 2021 • Paul A. Berthiaume

It's easy to speed our way through God's teaching. Make things simple and lose the deeper meaning behind His words. That's why Jesus taught in parables.

In this week's sermon, we will be discussing how Jesus used the parables to get around people's certainty, unteachability and contempt that is born from familiarity. And how they reveal to us those times when we have fooled ourselves into thinking we hear and understand. But completely lose what God wishes for us to hear from His word.

The goal is for each of us, in humility to see with our eyes, hear with our ears, understand with our heart, and turn, so Jesus can heal every part of our lives and live in the blessed reality of our love relationship with Jesus.
