Who are you? The answer to this question gets at the idea of identity. Identity can be broken down into two components - a sense of self and sense of worth. Self is the durable part of you that is true in all situations and circumstances, while worth describes what gives us meaning, value, and significance. As much as our modern age seeks freedom in identity, we often struggle to figure ourselves out and feel burdened by to create our own identity. However, the new identity Jesus gives a person can provide the strongest sense of self and highest possible worth.

Have you ever tried to change something about yourself? When we try to change old and ingrained habits and patterns of behavior, we often find it is far harder than we thought it would be. This is because we have what the book of Romans calls an old self and that identity tends to die hard. However, Jesus not only offers grace for our weaknesses and mistakes, but also power to live a new life.

Purpose
