Day 16

December 18, 2023

"The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world." John 1:9

These words encapsulate the essence of Christmas—the arrival of the true light, illuminating the darkness and bringing hope to all. The imagery is powerful, speaking to a light that is not exclusive but inclusive, reaching every corner of the world. It's a light that dispels shadows, reveals truth, and kindles a flame of hope within our hearts. Yet, it is not a light meant to be hoarded but shared—a light that, by its very nature, radiates to everyone.

Let’s consider the ways in which you can reflect the true light that has come into the world. Just as the moon reflects the sun's light, we are called to mirror the transformative radiance of Christ in our lives. Our actions, words, and attitudes become a testimony to the light that has touched us.

In a world often shadowed by uncertainty and despair, may we be intentional about being bearers of the true light. By extending kindness, love, and grace, we participate in the divine narrative of bringing light to every corner of our world.

Prayer:

Gracious Lord, we thank you for the true light that has come into the world. Help us to reflect that light in our lives, sharing its warmth and hope with those around us. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
