“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

The Way We Go

Is Determined By the Way We Walk

“There is, therefore now no condemnation to

those who are in Messiah Yeshua,

Romans 8:1

who do not walk according to the flesh,

but according to the Spirit.”

Romans 8:4

When we walk in the awe of the Holy Spirit with the joy of a childlike spirit, we see what we did not know and adore what we find.

“For we walk by faith, not by sight.”

2 Corinthians 5:7

Yeshua’s Jewish cultural expressions can make critical points to the meaning of what He taught and teaches us by His Spirit today.

The word journey is used in the Jewish culture in significant ways.

“Yeshua said to him, I am the Way, and the Truth,

and the Life. No one comes to

the Father except through Me.”

John 14:6

Yeshua was speaking Hebrew to His apostles, as they sat at the Passover table when He said these eternal words.

“Way” {Gk:hodos} should be translated as “journey,” to coincide with Yeshua’s Jewishness and notice how He personifies Himself as “the Journey.”

In Malachi 3:10 the word “bring,” is the Hebrew word “Bō.” “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse...”

“Bō” would probably be better translated as a journey.

Hebrew “Bo” & Greek “hodos” both traditionally call for a personal description - a story. If Yeshua Messiah is our “hodos,” He must also be our “bō.”   It is the story of our journey in life.

He is our Journey. He is our Truth. He is our Life {Gk: zoé}.

We can say that our journey is truth and life.

“The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy.

I have come that they may have life,

and that they may have it more abundantly.”

John 10:10

Life herein is not life in general, but it is God’s kind of life. The word Yeshua used to describe it is “abundant,” and the word in Greek means superfluous. This Zoé Life is effervescent and full of power—explosive power—if we journey with it in Truth.

“But if the Spirit of the One having

raised Yeshua from the dead dwells in you,

the One Who raised Messiah from the dead

gives life also to your mortal bodies

via His Spirit Who dwells in you.”

Romans 8:11

I researched older Greek texts and translated this verse in what I believe to be the proper order and tenses—considering that if a person gives full authority of their body to the Holy One, the apostle Paul is probably defining how the power of resurrection explodes from within the body with Zoé life.
