Prophetic Word: Yom Kippur—Rebooting Your Spiritual Life

Today is Yom Kippur—it is considered one of the holiest days on the Jewish calendar.

October 5, 2022 • Doug Addison

Today is Yom Kippur—it is considered one of the holiest days on the Jewish calendar. We are no longer under the Jewish law of Moses but, prophetically, the Lord speaks during this time of year.

*New Times And Seasons*

There is a lot happening right now and we are in a major times-and-seasons change.

*He changes times and seasons; he deposes kings and raises up others. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.* Daniel 2:21 NIV

We are in a major shifting in the times and seasons. We are entering into a new era and preparing for a major move of God.

The Lord is going to show you what to let go of and what to take hold of for this season. There is a major shifting, and assignments are being released from Heaven.

*Refreshment Personal And Corporate*

*See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.* Isaiah 43:19 NIV

Watch for plans, strategies and ideas to unfold.

*The Lord Is Going To Use It All*

*Even in a time of disaster he will watch over them, and they will always have more than enough no matter what happens.* Psalm 37:19 TPT

Even though it appears that we have been in a time of trouble (and in some cases it has been disastrous), the Lord is moving right now to bring everything into alignment for a blessing. He’s going to bless you double for your trouble.

We are in a time of restoration, the Lord is repaying the years the locust has eaten. Many of you, like me, have come out of a “Job season.” This has been a time of preparation to move in the greater things of the Lord.

*Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion; instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their lot; therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion; they shall have everlasting joy.* Isaiah 61:7 ESV

The Lord is going to give you a new vision. We need to keep our eyes on the Lord and on things above ... and not what is in front of us right now.

*The Foundation Of Everything*

*Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”* Matthew 22:37–40 NIV

Love God, love your neighbor, love yourself.

Love is the foundation for everything. Jesus said many times, this is the greatest commandment—love. And it can bring clarity for hearing the Lord.

When you align with these three loves and cleanse anything you have in common with the world, Heaven will open over you.

The first love: loving God.

Go through and see if you have anything in your heart against the Lord. Maybe you’ve been wounded or hurt by a leader or the church or God Himself.

The second love: loving others.

Go through and see if there’s forgiveness that is needed. Forgiving someone does not mean you agree with them and it’s sometimes a process, but unforgiveness can keep you in a prison of pain and not allow you to move forward.

The third love: loving yourself.

We need to get healed of the unloving spirits: self-hatred, low self-esteem, hopelessness, depression, fear, to name a few ... especially the spirit of suicide and death.

*How To Reboot Your Ability To Hear God*

I feel like we need to learn to get closer to the Lord and, in some cases, we need to reboot our ability to hear the Lord.

First, humble yourself and ask the Lord to show you if there’s anything that you need to change in your life. Don’t beat yourself up.

*Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.* 1 Peter 5:6 NIV

Prayer

Lord, we repent, renounce and break—all the way back to Adam—anything, including generational and soul ties. Anything known or unknown, we ask that the blood of Jesus would cover it.

*Let Go Of The Past*

*But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.* Philippians 3:13–14 NIV

It is time to let go of the past seasons and press on to what God is calling us to in the future.

*The Lord Is Rebooting Your Ability To See Hear And Understand*

Jesus talks about the ability to hear His voice—that we need to have eyes that see, ears that hear and a heart that understands.

*But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear.* Matthew 13:16 NIV

*He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.” This is why I speak to them in parables: “Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand.”*
Matthew 13:11,13 NIV

We usually get deeper understanding into your situation or those around you during this time of year.

The powers of darkness are trying to block you from seeing, hearing and understanding.

This is a 3-cord attack against our eyes, ears and the ability to understand.

There are things coming against us that are causing spiritual dullness ... those are the calluses (some translations call it dullness).

We need to remove theses blocks over ourselves and others as the Lord is releasing deep revelation and mysteries right now; but if you are not aware of it you might miss it because it is subtle.

*He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you ...”* Matthew 13:11 NIV

This is a season to receive the secrets of the mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven. You will need to pray and ask the Lord to remove the calluses on your eyes and the condition of being hard of hearing.

As you do this, it will prepare and align you with your ability to hear the Lord and walk under an open heaven.
I saw the Lord removing calluses and devices that have stopped us from seeing and hearing the Lord clearly.

*Call On The Lord’s Spirit Of Truth*

The Bible, the word of God, is extremely powerful and needs to be your road map right now.
Here are three power verses I use all the time when I need to hear the Lord:

John 16:13, 1 Corinthians 2:10, Daniel 2:22

*But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come. These are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him.*

May God richly bless you during this season to hear His voice and reboot your spiritual life!

Blessings,

The Bride of Christ and Holy Matrimony

April 12, 2024 • Doug Addison

In this special excerpt, Bonnie Jones shares her insight about the Bride of Christ, intimacy with the Lord and going behind the veil.  Below are some notes from our Partners-only Monthly Mentoring Session. These sessions have been recorded, and you can access them by becoming a Partner today! Find out more at https://dougaddison.com/timeoff/.  Bonnie started out by saying the time has come for the Bride of Christ to enter into the holiness of God. This is where the Bride is seated behind the veil. Behind the veil, the enemy is not going to touch you and it’s where the Lord will teach His Bride. There’s no struggle or striving because you’re in the presence of the Lord. Bonnie mentioned that a lot of times, the Lord teaches her in the night season. During the day people are busy, and at night He takes you to this place which is behind the veil. It’s here that your mind is given over to Him. The bridal veil represents the purity of the bride. There’s a lot of carnality in the Church worldwide, and some people just attend because it’s the right thing to do. But the Bride needs to press in. Bonnie talked about Isaac and Rebecca and about how the first thing Rebecca did when she got off the camel was put a veil on her face. She knew she was Isaac’s bride, but he wouldn’t be able to see her until he removed the veil. In the Jewish tradition, the bride covers her face completely until the end of the wedding ceremony. When the bride and groom are legally married, the groom lifts the veil as a way of finalizing their marriage. Two years ago, the Lord told Bonnie that He’s coming to lift the veil off His Bride. That’s why she started her ministry, Daughters of the Dawn. The Lord is coming to lift the veil off the face of His Bride (His beloved who has been faithful to Him, preparing herself for His return). He’s been faithful to continuously intercede for her while she prepares herself in holiness, faithfulness, truth and love. Bonnie said she thinks the Lord has a real expectation about this. He’s as excited for us as we are for Him. The Lord wants that face-to-face encounter with His beloved as He lifts the veil. There’s a dimension we have not yet attained, and Bonnie believes like Moses met with God face to face and the glory rested upon him, that is what the Lord is wanting us to do. Bonnie said that when she goes to bed at night, there’s such anticipation in her and an expectation of a visitation from the Lord … For Him to show her something in a dream or give her a “knowing” or an understanding. The Lord is going to breathe new life into His Bride. Bonnie said we’re going to see new life and it’s going to be something we haven’t seen before. Bonnie told the Partners how her husband, Bob Jones, said there were seven years when he walked in a “Samuel anointing.” He said every word he spoke came to pass right then, and he saw many people get saved and healed. Bonnie mentioned again that that’s why we need to get rid of all our fleshly stuff … Because when the Lord speaks, He needs a vessel to work through … and then we can release His word in power. So, we really need to have clean vessels … pure, only unto the Lord. Bonnie closed by saying that the Lord is unveiling the Bride to take her by the hand into holy matrimony.   InLight Connection thanks Bonnie Jones for sharing her heart with us! Knowing Holy Spirit as a Person

April 5, 2024 • Doug Addison

In this special excerpt, Sean Smith shares some practical ways we can begin to view Holy Spirit as a Person and not an impersonal force.  Below are some notes from our Partners-only Monthly Mentoring Session. These sessions have been recorded and you can access them by becoming a Partner today! Find out more at https://dougaddison.com/timeoff/.    Sean started off by saying that the first imperative for intimacy with God is that you have to have a revelation of God as your Father.   Secondly, you must recognize the Holy Spirit as a Person. Holy Spirit is not “junior God.” Sometimes people treat Holy Spirit like He's a junior partner in the Trinity.  Jesus told His disciples that it was good for Him to go away because He would send another helper. The Greek word used there means “another of the same kind.”   Sean mentioned how he thinks about what Peter would have thought . . . that no one could replace Jesus because He’d done all sorts of miracles. But Jesus knew His mission was to bear our sins upon Himself, to pay the price to release the Kingdom of God, etc …    Sean said Jesus was telling them, “You’re ready for this and as real as I’ve been to you, that’s how real Holy Spirit wants to be.”     So, is your relationship with Holy Spirit as real as the disciples walking with Jesus? To feel that, bring Holy Spirit into your situations and get His perspective, wisdom and narrative.   Sean then mentioned how when Steve Jobs introduced the iPhone, he did not say, “the iPhone.” He only said, “iPhone,” making it more personal. In the same way, we can drop the “the” and say, “Holy Spirit.” This can give us a better sense of intimacy.   Holy Spirit is not chill bumps. He's not goosebumps. He's not warm flashes. He's not even power alone, those things are impersonal.   Holy Spirit is a Person! He has feelings and He can be grieved. He's not moody but He has moods.   He’s in the mood to heal. He’s in the mood to restore! He’s in the mood to convict … Sean said, “I'm not saying He's moody, I'm saying He has moods.”   Holy Spirit talks and He has a will! It's all proved in Scripture that He is a Person! InLight Connection thanks Sean Smith for sharing his heart with us!

Can You Trust Your Heart?

March 29, 2024 • Doug Addison

In this special excerpt, Ray Leight shares pivotal information about the new heart and our identity in Christ. Below are some notes from our Partners-only Monthly Mentoring Session. These sessions have been recorded and you can access them by becoming a Partner today! Find out more at https://dougaddison.com/timeoff/.      Ray started the session by asking us this question: “Can you trust your heart?” He urged us to be honest with ourselves. He also asked us to write down our answers.   Ray has been ministering at a deep level for over twenty years and he sees common issues in the Church related to this question.  For many people, what they believe about themselves stems from Jeremiah 17:9, “The heart is deceitful above all things and desperately wicked: who can know it?” This, for many people, is their “gospel” message. Even if they are a believer in Christ, this is their opinion of themselves … and that is very damaging.   To find out what Jesus did about that wicked heart, you don’t even have to go to the New Testament; you can go to the Old Testament. In Jeremiah 31:33, the Lord says that He would make a new covenant and put His law within us and write it on our hearts …   Also, Ray pointed out these verses:   For I will take you out of the nations; I will gather you from all the countries and bring you back into your own land. I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. Ezekiel 36:24–27 NIV    The Lord says He will take you from the nations and gather you from all the countries and bring you into your own land … sprinkle clean water on you and you shall be clean from all your uncleanness and from all your idols. He will cleanse you and give you a new heart and a new spirit! He will remove the heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. He will put His Spirit within you and cause you to walk in His statutes …   So, there's a shift! It’s like we didn't even have to get to the New Testament to find out what He did with that old, wicked heart. He actually removed that wicked heart! It was beyond a cure—it wasn't fixable—He had to actually take it out of you. We were crucified on the cross with Jesus.   Ray said that he doesn’t remember that happening (being crucified on the cross with Jesus) and he’s sure you don’t either. It’s a spiritual truth. We were co-mingled together on the cross with Jesus. We died with Him! And we didn't just die with Him, we were buried with Him, and we were raised again into new life! That’s the gospel. We’re a new creation! And part of receiving that transformation on the cross is that He removed our old, wicked hearts. He took it from you.   The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn. Isaiah 61:1–2 NIV   As believers, we’ve got a new heart! That old broken heart was bound up. He removed that wicked heart of stone and gave us a heart of flesh. He wrote the law on it and gave us a new spirit.   Ray said that he still remembers when he got this revelation. He was drunk in the Spirit for weeks after!   Ray also mentioned reading John chapter 17 to get an idea of what Jesus did for us.    For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh,  in order that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us, who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit. Romans 8:3–4 NIV   God has done what the law weakened by the flesh could not do … by sending His own Son in the likeness of flesh. Jesus glorified the Father by removing that heart of stone—binding it up and removing it—giving us a new heart and writing the law on it. Jesus fulfilled the righteous requirement of the law in that new heart.   Prayer: Jesus, I just ask right now that You would comfort, protect, reveal truth, open people's minds … and that their hearts would be able to receive this truth.   Jesus cleaned you of all your uncleanness! He wrote the law on your heart and fulfilled the righteous requirement of the law in that new heart.   Ray reminded us that Jesus said He would send Holy Spirit. And Holy Spirit is going to glorify Jesus by taking what belongs to Him and revealing it to you! So, Holy Spirit revealing to you the truth of who you are in Christ glorifies Him.   Jesus glorified the Father by accomplishing what was needed for you to be the righteousness of Christ. We glorify God by believing this truth and manifesting this truth … to accomplish the work that He gave us to do.   InLight Connection thanks Ray Leight for sharing his heart with us. P.S.
