The Father's Business

Pete McKenzie • October 12, 2018 • Pastor Pete McKenzie

We've been called to be ready and prepared when the master comes. How do you know how to be prepared? How do I go about my Father's business? Doing the Father's will is not an event. It's a process. When many enter the door of the church, they stop following him when when they leave each Sunday. Walking with our Lord requires a desperate hunger and a committed love. Luke 12:40 says the son of man is coming at an hour that you do not expect.

Which Jesus?

Pete McKenzie • October 3, 2018 • Pastor Pete McKenzie

Jesus of Nazareth said, "there is a narrow way and few there be that find it." The Jesus of Orange County says, "everyone will go to heaven and there is no such thing as sin." Jesus of Nazareth said, "Broad is the way that leads to destruction."

Run Don't Walk

Pete McKenzie • August 22, 2018 • Pastor Pete McKenzie

Men need to live every day in Psalm 51. Messing up is normal but how we respond when we stumble is to be quick to ask forgiveness. Men tend to run from the Lord when they sin but the model is to run to the Lord. The Lord is willing and kind, and waiting.

WIse fools!

What is the natural man capable of if there is no self discipline? In Galatians 5 the contrast of what is and what we can become in Christ shows the destructiveness of the 'flesh'

Beauty for Ashes

Pete McKenzie • July 18, 2018 • Pastor Pete McKenzie

Spirit of encouragement and love turns ashes to beauty. We live in a way that is irrational to the rest of the world. God takes the ashes of our lives and turns them into beauty. Ecc 3:20-22 ' ... All came from dust and all return to dust'

Declaration of Dependence

Pete McKenzie • July 4, 2018 • Pastor Pete McKenzie

As dual citizens of America and of Heaven, may we declare our independence from the powers of darkness and our dependence upon the power of Almighty God….for thy strength is made perfect in my weakness, thy grace is sufficient for me.

The Greatest Treasure

Ryan Van Deusen • June 27, 2018 • Pastor Ryan Van Deusen

What do we value most, that is where our direction we will go. Where the heart goes so does our life. The treasure we value will direct the heart, we often miss a special treasure, prayer.

I Shall Not Be Moved

Ryan Van Deusen • June 13, 2018 • Pastor Ryan Van Deusen

"These things are of no value to me." There is no moving value of the things of this earth. I shall not be moved from the course my Father has set before me. This is heart of the man of God...to value the things of the spirit of life in Christ. Our hearts are not tethered to the things of this world. Rather, our hearts are tethered to heaven. What is it that you treasure? What do you value most? Treasure not treasures upon earth but rather treasure treasures in heaven.

Escape Relief

Pete McKenzie • May 23, 2018 • Pastor Pete McKenzie

Many men try to escape from themselves through drugs, alcohol and indulgent fantasies. However, you can't escape from yourself. As Paul said, "O wretched man that I am, who shall deliver me from this dead body?" We have met the enemy and he is me. Jeremiah 17:9-10 says, “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I test the mind, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.”
