Unforgiveness has a major stronghold in our lives. We carry things with us because we have a wrong belief about forgiveness. We have a wrong belief about repenting. Not not forgiving is a terrible thing to do to God, but also it is a terrible thing to do to ourselves. This message in our series Shattering Your Strongholds will discuss why.
The key principles to shattering strongholds are the binding (holding) and loosing (letting go) principles. What would happen as we learned last week if we took every positive, right truth and made it captive (bound) to the spirit of Christ and we let go (loosed) of every negative, wrong truth. Let's do it!
Embracing the real truth, God's truth gives you the space to let of the pieces that don't fit. This then, encourages and strengthens your belief that you can demolish every stronghold and make them captive to Christ. Meaning we have the power to shatter strongholds because of the belief and power of our savior Jesus. Today we will learn how to take authority over the wrong truths in our life so we can embrace the real truth.
One of the greatest beginning moments of shattering our strongholds is realizing when things don't fit in our lives. Our often biggest hurdle is sometimes the pieces that don't fit are the main ones we desire to keep. As a matter of fact, we do end up keeping them. As we journey into truth, revelations will come illuminating what in our lives doesn't fit. What in our lives are we trying to make fit, in spite of a deep reality that these things don't fit. We will explore that in part II of the series shattering your strongholds.
This begins our series on shattering your strongholds. Strongholds are the thinking that we have developed as truth in our lives about who we are and why we do what we do. This thinking is developed by our experiences in life. Have you ever been curious about how you came to developed these modes of thinking? Have you eve asked yourself if what you think is true? Real truth comes from God. So the question is are you ready to embark on a journey to discover truth? Let's Go!
