As we come to the end of What's HOT What's NOT, throughout our praise and worship during this series, we experienced God's LOVE, seeking to live a lifestyle of love. We embraced the FORGIVENESS of God being thankful it is available to everyone. Because of that we are ACCOUNTABLE to God which give us the reality we can and should have great EXPECTATIONS in the God we serve. This helps to increase our BELIEF because God's PRESENCE is with us always. The reality of this journey is not easy but God is there for our RELIEF whenever we need it. Our task is to embrace the time in WAITING for all God wants to do in our lives. TRUSTING that God will do what he says he will. No what happens, having PATIENCE because God is always working. So now, let's EXPERIENCE this amazing God. The last word for What's HOT What's NOT...EXPERIENCE!
We are susceptible to facing difficulties in life. The reality of “time and chance” happen to us all—everyone will, at some point or another, experience some adversity. This, combined with he impact of sin in the world, means that life can at times, feel painful and unfair. What helps in the midst of these times? Our trust of God. Our undeniable trust that God is in control. That God has a purpose. And, that God knows what is happening and what we need to make it through. God says it is better to put trust in him than anything or anyone else. So let's do it, because Trust is HOT
Patience is the ability to wait calmly, or to continue doing something despite difficulties, without becoming annoyed or frustrated Different than waiting, patience is what carries through the waiting. Patience is HOT. It is the force of stability that God gives us and it is certainly what we can honor God with while we go through life.
So often we find our blessing is in the waiting. Plenty of people in the history of the biblical story provide encouragement for us through their waiting. Have you ever been waiting for something? Are you waiting for something now. Have the hot words of the summer, Love, Forgiveness, Accountability, Expectation, Belief, Presence, and Relief caused you to realize something you are waiting for? Well you are not alone and this is nothing new. Waiting for something shows us its true value. Especially when what we are waiting for is from God. Be encouraged in your waiting. God is preparing you. Waiting is really HOT.
In these days when some many areas of our lives are being attacked,. It doesn’t matter what your political views are, your age, gender, social/economic status, race, creed or color, weather you are married, single, engaged or divorced. It doesn’t matter what side of town you live on, how big or small you house or apartment. Life doesn’t care if you are healthy, ill, thin, a bit heavy none of that really matters. We all are just looking for some RELIEF!
It has been amazing looking at so many words that are attached to God during this What's HOT What's NOT series. While trying to figure out how LOVE like Christ, and FORGIVE like Christ because ultimately we are ACCOUNTABLE to Christ, we can have great EXPECTATIONS for God because the truth is God is always present. Meaning God is always with us. What does that really mean? So today what's hot is PRESENCE.
At the heart of the matter what is really HOT is what we believe. Belief is the key to what controls how we navigate through life. It affects how we pray, how we go about our days, how we move through our circumstances, how we perceive what the future holds, and it determines what we think God will do. Today is about us taking a moment to ask ourselves what do believe about the power of God. Our belief is what is HOT.
If we believe in the powerful God that is able to do as He says He will do, than we ought to expect things to happen in our lives. We ought to expect that God will come through on His promises. We ought to expect God will make things happen and provide breakthroughs in our life. So today, let's look at what we expect from God.
Everyone will have to give an account to God. What helps us craft what that accountability becomes is how we are accountable to each other. We are accountable for our words, actions and ourselves. That is what is HOT to live by. Accountable to what we do to build up the kingdom of God.
The word for this Sunday is forgiveness. The greatest gift we have because of God's love is forgiveness. It is God's way of helping us live out our life in the midst of sin. Because of God's unconditional love, forgiveness and the gifts of grace and mercy belong to us. We recognize it by forgiveness.
Moving into the summer, the weather is hot. Not only is the weather hot, but summer fun is hot. People often times get busy with what is hot in the summer. Summer activities, summer vacations, family reunions, barbeques, etc. What is hot and stays hot, is what we do to keep Christ at the center. We must not forget to continue building and enhancing our relationship with Christ. That is what is hot. This summer will be an exciting series with a "word" each Sunday that when it comes to Christ and our relationship with Christ, this "word" will keep this in our spiritual walk...hot. This first Sunday the word is LOVE.
