Confirmation seeks to give our youth a systematic overview of the faith - our identity, our history and heritage, our practices, and our beliefs. In being confirmed, a person claims the Christian faith as part of their belief and identity. They also confirm that they want to continue learning and growing into a faithful disciple of Jesus Christ. In addition, youth will learn what it means to live the Christian life and be involved in the mission of the church in the world. Confirmation as a discipleship journey gives our teenagers an intentional space to discern the call and responsibility of being a disciple of Christ in a community of peers, mentors, and church leaders, and it is therefore open to all youth twelve and older, regardless of whether or not they have been baptized. Our confirmation process is comprised of seven learning and activity sessions, a retreat, an outing, a family service project, and ends with Confirmation Sunday. At the end of the Confirmation journey, all participants are given the opportunity to confirm the vows made at their previous baptism, or to make baptismal vows for themselves if they have not been previously baptized. This experience also welcomes the teenager into full membership of the church. A confirmation retreat is TENTATIVELY scheduled for March 1st-3rd and will cost $170. Attendance is highly encouraged. All sessions will take place during the 12 PM Maximum Impact Sunday experience for approximately 75 minutes: February 11th (Parent Meeting will be held directly after 12PM experience) February 18th February 25th March 3rd March 10th March 17th March 24th Confirmation Sunday will be April 14th. Baptism will be held prior to the end of Confirmation, date TBD.
