Whom Shall I Send? God’s Mission from God’s Throne

October 20, 2019 • Thomas Smoak, Action International

[BIO] God sent Thomas to His mission in 1966 when he was just two years old. That’s when Immanuel sent him, his brother Jonathan and his parents, Tom and Betsy Smoak, to serve with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Colombia, South America. Growing up on the mission base there with 200 people dedicated to spreading the knowledge of God’s glory to all nations gave him a love for the marching people of God and for seeing the light of God’s Word come on in dark human souls. He committed his life to Jesus in 1972 here at Immanuel under the teaching of Dr. Stanley Toussaint and dedicated himself to mission service at 14. After graduating from Wheaton College, Thomas and Susanna served 5 years with Wycliffe in Colombia and then spent 21 years loving abandoned children in São Paulo, Brazil with Action International Ministries. Today they live in Wheaton, Illinois and Thomas serves as ACTION's International Director. They have six biological children and many others who call them Mom and Dad.
